Any updates from the FRE recipients ? how long do you think is the wait time after RFE is mailed to them ? I know I'm waiting just a week, I know I have to wait much longer, but how long ? 60-120 days ?

We are really getting impatient... Our NOA date was 5/12/14. Honestly, they should really update their processing times on their website from being 6 months since that is not accurate.

Anyway, we called about 2 weeks ago to inquire on the status (in case there was a problem with the mail etc...), and the Tier 1 guy we spoke to stated "Oh, yes I see your case is out of normal processing time, I will submit an inquiry for you and you will receive a letter by mail with in 15 days of today with an update on the status of your case". Well, today we got the letter in the mail...First off, they spelled my name wrong on the letter and then where they put my relation to the filer, they put "translator for applicant". Umm...I'm his wife. He speaks English fine and does not need a translator... It goes on to state that it is currently under review and a decision or notice of other action will occur within 60 days of the date of the letter.

Well...I guess that gives them until March 26th to get back to us with the decision/next step. Hopefully they will just review it now and get back to us soon since they probably had to pull the case out to send the letter to us? Fingers crossed!

I got a letter in the mail today telling me that i have to attend an interview on February 12th at 9:30am. It says "You and your spouse must attend". Well i don't have a spouse any more! I called them to find out if i can go alone or if im supposed to get my ex to go and tier 1 doesn't know and tier 2 were not available today due to the storm coming in.

I know why I got it so im not too bothered about it. I didn't send what they wanted for the RFE so it was to be expected looking back!

My divorce decree has blacked out lines on it which is normal practice in my county for the uncontested diy divorce packet that you can do without a lawyer which is what I did. The judge will black out things with a marker that are not applicable to that particular case because the forms are so general to cover almost anything.

So my RFE requested one that is not blacked out so the judge wrote a statement saying it was him that did it and that it was normal practice. That is acceptable in New York State however on a Federal level it is not acceptable (as I found out through this process!). I didn't submit one without the lines before because that is the official document and the courts told me it was not possible as that was the document and there was no way to change it.

So when the interview notice came through I took it to the Judges secretary who pretty much said it sucks to be you, nothing we can do. So then I went to the County Clerk who was really nice about it and called in a ton of favors from the judges attorney and the district attorney. They all agreed to help me out for free and re-do my divorce (in a week and a half no less!). A divorce has apparently never been modified in my county before so its a first for all of them but they have all been truly wonderful.

I just hope that is enough because they didn't ask me for more relationship evidence (I will be taking more anyway), their issue was just with the divorce decree which is going to be fixed before then.

Wow, I really wish you the best of luck. Sometimes it seems like the people at immigration live inside a bubble and do not know how the procedures around them work, they want papers to prove everything, I guess that the way it is. So, are you thinking on going to the interview or will you try to call back to see if they can tell you what to do?

As far as its concerned, I understand why I got the interview, because I didn't do what they asked because I was told its not possible. But ive found a way to do what they asked so it should be ok now.

I did put in a service request for information on what exactly they want from me but they didn't respond. So I feel the best I can do is go fully prepared with all of my evidence and the new documents which took a hell of a lot of persuading the court system to actually get and give it all ive got.

I saw it in a similar way to what happened to Sunshine (if anyone has followed her case). She was denied because she didn't have a divorce decree. They were looking to deny me because my decree was not Federally acceptable. Now its going to be. So it should be ok.

I got my NOA for the ASC appt time for my son on July 10 with an appointment date of July 24th for the biometrics. My form never came, but I was lucky enough to still be given my appointment the same day. The lady there did tell me that they were not going to be allowed to do that anymore as of Aug 1, so I really was lucky in that respect.

I got a letter that isn't dated, though from my facebook post about it, it was received on October 27th, saying that I was relocated to the Denver field office and would be getting an interview.

On Jan 22, having still not received an interview date, I contacted USCIS to see what the delay was. I was told that they were processing June interview now out of CSC, which is where mine is waiting. They agreed that it was now past my turn and she would send something requesting why I had not yet been scheduled for one. She told me that if I had not received anything back within 30 days to contact them again.

Today I received an email reply from USCIS stating that they have gotten the request for information, and that I have not yet been scheduled but will be scheduled, and will be notified by mail when they have a date for me.

So... I guess that adds another 30 day wait time, starting now, if I don't get anything from them soon.
