After purchasing a home and settling, we went away on a two-week holiday from Maryland to visit family in Florida and then Haiti, hoping to come back home to an approval letter or even the 10 year GC. Came back on Tuesday 1/06 to an RFE dated December 16.

We are mailing a response today. We really do not have much to add to what we had sent earlier, but we purchased our family home in August, so we are sending in the Title Deed for the house, Purchase Money Deed of Trust for the house, Homesite insurance papers, and recent utility bills.

We are expecting our first child together in mid April, so we are sending in a photo of the bump too, haha.

It is amazing the number of RFEs issued by Vermont. Also it looks like those who did not get appointments for biometrics ('current') are the major recipients of RFEs.

And also send in proof of gifts u guys bought each other like the receipts on a few occasions my husband bought my hair extensions online with his card n shipped them in my name. I printed out the confirmation letters from his email n sent those in as well lol. He told me not 2 but I figured if they want proof I'll give them proof. Also if ur spouse has ever sent money to your family back home for u. I even sent it western union receipts where he sent money to my mom in Jamaica. If u think really hard u can find stuff. Also cards that were sent to both of u from friends and family members I copied those and sent those

This is just so stupid at this point...

I called last week to check my case status.. I have been told to inquire again next week as I have to wait 3 days before the system allows the immigration officer to check my case... WHAT ??!?!

So then I dialed today and been told that unfortunately the system is down so either call again in 2-3 hours or tomorrow...

The USCIS service is the worst ever... maybe worse that the DMV here (and that is hard to come by)

I called USCIS during the 2nd week of December and a lady from Tier1 said that they will be working the case the next day.

I called again a day before Christmas and they said they still haven't got to my case yet and i better call on 2nd of Jan.

I called them again yesterday and this time tier2 said the normal processing time is any where between 6 months to 1 year and that's the reason they give us 1 year extension. I should be hearing from them in the next 3-4 months.

So by this it looks like in USCIS everyone has their own working structure.

I wonder why they did that, seems like they want to slow down all the process, and then transferring all June cases to CSC, so what is Vermont doing now?

Should I submit a service request? It's been almost 8 months and we didn't hear back anything, not even the biometrics notice (found out later ours was "current.")

However, seeing that more than half of May filers are still on the same boat, we don't want to "tick off" the officer and have her/him give us a RFE.

What would you guys do if you were in our shoes?
