Wow everything is weird out there in VC lol. Called today, they still giving wrong info, that they are working on March cases, which is not true as we can already see May approvals. Congrats to approvals! Good luck to ones who is still waiting, hopefully we will get answers soon :))))

We received an approval today from Vermont! It was dated 11/19/2014. Keep in mind this was in response to our RFE, very happy!

Hi KnowledgeIsPower, can you tell us a little more about the RFE and what you sent in in response to that? We haven't heard anything back. We just want to prepare ourselves in case we get a RFE. Thanks!!!

Hi KnowledgeIsPower, can you tell us a little more about the RFE and what you sent in in response to that? We haven't heard anything back. We just want to prepare ourselves in case we get a RFE. Thanks!!!

I got an RFE because I only submitted Bank statements from 2 months (latest and earliest months since marriage), rather than the "whole time we were married" as they asked. I felt we provided more than enough evidence - Joint Title to the Car, Joint Car Insurance Policies, Tax Returns, in addition to the bank statements and photocopy of Credit Cards.

They said that I have not demonstrated the credit card account is used by both me and my spouse and that a copy of the card is not evidence of that. Problem is statements are generated only in the primary account holder's name (mine). And an authorized user is never printed on a statement and the bank will not do so for you if you request it.

Luckily of our 9 credit cards, 1 of them, our American Express card, has a joint credit card statement that allows you online to show both your spending (because Amex assigns a different card number to the authorized user so you can track their spending specifically). If I didn't have that there would be no way I could prove we both use the cards so I am very lucky to have that as most of our other credit cards do not have such an option!

I ended up mailing our entire bank statements since 2012 (60 pages worth!), airline tickets showing we have taken trips together, and more pictures, in addition to the credit card statement from Amex. I guess it was enough for them! We don't have kids, my wife is not on the home deed because she did not have a credit history at the time, and I think getting affidavits were an unnecessary hassle...I mean really, anyone's friends can lie for them and claim they're telling the truth.

It seemed from the RFE they cared more about financial "intermingling" and since my wife was not on our mortgage they didn't have much proof of it. I guess it makes sense because anyone can add someone to the bank account but unless you can prove you both used the account it doesn't mean much to them.

woohoooo!! Just got our NOA2 (approval) letter today, dated 11/18/2014!

since Vermont was taking soooo long, I wrote to one of our Senators for help. He responded quickly, sending an inquiry to VSC on 11/18....and lo and behold! they notified his staffer on 11/20 that our application was approved on the 18th...WITHOUT an interview! :D It's amazing what a little judicious push can do.

Please update our info! :D

next step will be filing for citizenship!

P.S....the letter says my wife should receive her new green card within 60 days. Good Luck everyone!

just received an RFE in the mail, anyone gone through this, my wife and i have don't have any joint bank accounts or bills. what else can i send? please help, thank you

From what I understand just think, send all you can, and write a nice page about what is missing and why you can not produce it. After that prepare to have an interview. Is this correct? I sent my application in September and will be expecting an RFE due to several financial companies being so slow about mailing me info.
