Just called CSC again and was told that the 30 days is from the date I received the NOA1 not the date on the NOA1 so now I have to call back on the 17th as I received the NOA1 on 5/16,as I still have no BIO date

You should call USCIS customer service.. Not CSC. The number is (800) 375-5283. Press option 2 then 2 to be connected to someone. I just called and the lady put in a service request for biometric.

We are still waiting for hubby's biometrics letter too. He called USCIS today and a service request was put in. The person said it should take about 15 days to get a response.

We went to Kenya earlier this year and he was fingerprinted when we returned in January. He also had to dash back to Kenya in March as his mom was having surgery and again he was fingerprinted when he returned.

Peradventure they got and will use this?

What does a service request do,and should I ask for one when I call next week or do they automatically do one?

I think a service request just make them look into the case and see what is causing the delay in bio letter. If the biometrics is current, they will send an email saying so and that email will most like include our case number. When you call and inquire, they will just ask a few question and submit a request on your behalf.

I'm still curious about what makes one's biometrics current. Since my POE in 2012, I've made short trips out of the country several times. They ALWAYS take my fingerprints when I return. My most recent trip was 2 weekends ago. Today I received a letter with my biometrics appointment. Hmmmm.

I got email saying that my biometrics information is current since I made Service Request . So I called, eventually I got to talk to 2nd tier officer after 40 mins hold. I asked politely for my new case ID no so that I can check my status online. He said its good thing that I do not have to do biometrics again but I won't be able to check my status online. I have one year ext. so its gonna take time. He verified my info and said thank you and have a great day and hanged up the phone.

so questions.

1. I know no biometrics is recent change made in April but still does this gonna delay or speed up the process or normal time? Any ideas?

2. Now should I call again which is a pain and try to get my new case ID # so that I can track my status.

or don't even worry about it since the online status is not consistent and does not get updated regularly.............and if there is any change or update or RFE they send mail.

3. Since we move from another state to TX while in conditional status..so does the moving gonna delay my process or it just gonna be normal process time?

So please share your experience.

your inputs are appreciated :)

This is Interesting! I am curious about the "USCIS formular" they use to decide who gets to have or not to have biometrics done <_<

The 30 days since my NOA date was up last Thursday, still no biometrics appointment so decided to call USCIS and they have no record in their system of my receipt number. The guy told me it can take 45 days to appear in their system and I should phone back after 45 days, so in another couple of weeks.

Anyone heard of that before?

Biometrics early walk in attempt at Des Moines thanks to the geniuses at USCIS scheduling my husband's biometrics appointment in Puerto Rico (our mailing address) instead of our physical address (Des Moines):

Total failure. Security guard at ASC was handsdown the most rude federal employee I've ever dealt with. When I attempted to explain the situation (incorrect biometrics location), he said nothing and pointed at the DATE of husband's appointment (June 27th) in the most condescending manner possible. He later told me to call USCIS at their Misinformation Line. Incredible that I can't get a job at USCIS to save my life but an a-hole like that can....

Thankfully, I had also made an Infopass appointment, and so went to talk to the very nice lady there. She said we should change our address with the AR-11 (I did); but I told her that as I still don't have a permanent mailing address in Iowa, I didn't want USCIS sending the very important ROC documents there. I also said that, with my ROC documents, I had enclosed a letter explaining our temporary living situation in Iowa but that our permanent mailing address is in San Juan. She said on the date of his biometrics (27th of June), we could walk in there again and get them done, as the system doesn't allow for early walk-ins in other USCIS offices, only the one you had the appointment to. But, the system allows for the person to get their biometrics done in ANY USCIS office on the day OF their biometrics appointment. So we'll do that. Hopefully they won't screw us over again the day of.

I knew moving would cause USCIS a headache but I'm astounded at how stupidly this has all been done.

Hi!

I just did the same thing. I told the lady on the phone that I knew that they wouldn't be able to look me up because the only time they are able to do that is with our BIOMETRICS case number...so she placed me on hold and opened up a case with a service request and gave me a reference number. I would call back and at least get that done. Good think Visa Journey has schooled me.....

She then said that i would hear back in 15-30 days.

Good luck!

Andrea
