At a Sunday campaign event for Joni Ernst, the hog-castrating Senate candidate from Iowa, only 50 people stuck around to shake Palin's hand.

I've long defended Palin against the offensive treatment she's received at the hands of a blatantly biased media ... When my husband (who was baptized 10 years ago today, as it happens) told me about this, I had a hard time believing that she actually said it.

She has some pull with the base, but it has fallen a little bit,” said conservative blogger Erick Erickson, who was also at the reception Friday after moderating a Senate primary forum. During the debate, Ernst, a state senator who sits near the top of the polls, only once mentioned the GOP’s 2008 vice-presidential nominee.

Do you know how many events she does for candidates?

That you can find one were "Just" fifty people waited to meet her is a joke.

The women spoke at an NRA show... it was humor.

Bet if she had said "waterboard Nazi's" or Klansmen you would have joined in the laugh but for some reason you get sensitive when the joke is on a guy with a Bomb-vest in a public bus?

Strange days indeed.

We can all be surprised she didn't. She has shown very little concern for history or reality, in the past... For all we know she can see the Nazis in Russia from her porch in Arizona....

That's exactly it. She has a solid fan base. They will support her, buy her books, pay to hear her speak, etc. These statements are what they want to hear. He political future is over; but she is doing a good job of maintaining her little bit of fame and, probably, solid income.

From what I've read, she's not throwing her name in the ring just yet. I'd wager if she's going to run, she'll wait until the last minute, to catch her opponents off guard. If she were to announce it now, they'd tear her apart.

But like you said, there are people, like on here, who think she's awesome. So she will always get something.

Personally, I don't think water boarding is funny. And Danno, why don't you post her schedule, since she's out there endorsing these candidates and they're dying to get it.

Costa notes that even candidates who still want Palin's endorsement aren't seeing entirely positive results. Palin backed Lizbeth Benacquisto in a special Republican primary for a House seat in Florida this month, as well as Katrina Pierson in a primary challenge against Texas Rep. Pete Sessions. Both lost.

Four years after using her unique position to propel a number of conservatives — many previously unknown and not favored by party leaders — in the tea party wave of 2010, Palin is today a diminished figure in the Republican Party. Even as she travels to Iowa and elsewhere to bolster her handpicked candidates, her influence in these midterm elections has been eclipsed by a new class of stars and her circle has narrowed, with a handful of aides guiding her and a few allies in Washington beyond a group of backbench troublemakers in Congress.

She aint running for office.

Mark the tape I made another prediction.

Had she taken my advice after 2008 and got in the Senate or house she could have had a future in active politics.

She could have even did it the way Hilary did... pick a vulnerable state, and ran there.... worked out great for her.

At this point palin is political celeb.... and thats about it. (one of the best though)

Bro, you are not aware of Palins efforts and record on picking winners often from unknowns.

She is doing it right now and I bet 3 out of 4 get hired.

Of course her brand does not work in all regions, no doubt about that.

HeII, Obamas endorsement is not welcome with every campaign around the fruited plain.

If you look at where she made the statement, it is kind of understandable. She was speaking to a very "pro-America" gun crowd. I would consider it more like a pep rally type atmosphere so, I wouldn't take it too serious.

However, when you make those kind of statements, no matter the setting, in my opinion it removes you from any further consideration for public office.

But there are people, American people, who are out here supporting this type of thinking. If there were not, she would have no followers at all. She still maintains followers in the thousands. This says something.

She will want to declare Alaska as her own country eventually.

Foreign policy relating to seeing Russia from a water skiing island does not equate to being smart. I will give her the pretty part though.

She is not Mensa material nor are most of us but she did so well against Biden in a debate (on topics he has been studying for 30 years).... that it was roundly considered a draw.

Here you go. The Bail out was for helping those concerned about Health Care reform. It's all about job creation.

hahahahahahahaha I love her.

So far this cycle, Palin has endorsed more than a dozen candidates, with mixed results. This month, Lizbeth Benacquisto, whom Palin backed ahead of a special House GOP primary in Florida, was defeated. A month earlier, Katrina Pierson, a tea-party activist running against Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Tex.), also lost a House primary, despite Palin hailing her as a “feisty fighter for freedom.”

That's four already. Unless she got the other 7 elected, that's not a stellar track record.

And I'd wager the president's endorsement would get me in the door faster than her's, unless I was trying to work at the NRA.

This would be like me pointing to a few Obama stumped for that lost.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/presidentialdebates/3129259/Who-won-the-VP-debate-Palin-or-Joe-Biden.html

Another instant poll done by Fox News, which did not allow for such fence-sitting, had the divide between the two candidates at 61 per cent for Mr Biden and 39 per cent for Mrs Palin.

A poll by CNN and Opinion Research found 51 per cent thought Mr Biden had performed best, with Mrs Palin taking 36 per cent of respondents.

This would be like me pointing to a few Obama stumped for that lost.

No it wouldn't be. You know why? Because he's the sitting president. He's made it where she wants to be.
