I DID talk to Carol in the Lompoc office the other day, and you're right; she's awesome! :) I told her about her wonderful reputation on this site, and she was happy to hear about it.

My fiance' and I booked our wedding appointment today and we're getting married in Santa Barbara. I talked to a lady named Marlene, also very nice, who, when I explained my reason for wanting to go to Lompoc for the same-day marriage certificate, she said I could do the same in SB. She made a note of it in our appointment, and said we'd be good to go that very day. So... Santa Barbara it is, in a little less than 4 weeks. CAN'T WAIT!

just wanted to post quickly about my experience in vegas: we asked the minister at the chapel if it was possible to get the official marriage certificate the same day, or the day after. he said it was no problem, he´ll carry the paperwork to the office the same day.

so we thanked him with a little tip, walked in the recorders office the next day and held the official certificate in hand.

so anyone interested in getting married in vegas go to graceland wedding chapel. we had a really good time, they were friendly and fast und we could file AOS two days after getting married.

This is key.. ask the celebrant/Elvis or whomever to file the paperwork straight away, we asked and even tipped Elvis a hundred dollars to do so, but it took him several weeks.

Hi,

Just wanted to chime in that we found this thread tremendously helpful. Thank you for starting this thread :) - it probably saved us several weeks of waiting for a marriage certificate. We got married in Sacramento, which issues same day marriage certificates. The staff was courteous and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We were able to apply for a marriage license, book a marriage ceremony appointment, and order copies of marriage license on the Sacramento county website well in advance of my now-husband's arrival. I highly recommend Sacramento for those living in Northern California.
