Same Day Marriage Certificate California or Nevada

My fiance and I are planning my POE our court wedding. We were planning to go to Lompac in Santa Barbara since it's about a 3-4 hour drive from us and they can process your marriage certificate same day. But now, were wondering if we should make a weekend of it. My parents will be coming to "send me off" and have a week of fun in the US while I move. We were thinking of maybe doing a vegas wedding instead of a court "wedding" since our "real" wedding party won't be until 2015.

I've been trying to look online but a lot of reviews are from years back and mostly about processing the license. Anyone know if we can get same day or next day marriage certificate in hand so we can start the AOS process right away?

In Vegas, I believe it's same day. You apply for the license, then take it to a chapel or the courthouse and have your vows. Contact one of the chapels here to get a more specific answer. I'm on my phone or I'd give you some links. But they are easy to find online. Good luck

YES!! Make a weekend of it! You'll be in California wine country and it's gorgeous here! (I live about 20 min from Lompoc in SB county) I didn't know you could do a "same day" license in Lompoc. I'll be looking into that too, as we are wanting to do the same thing: a court wedding to get AOS and EAD, AP rolling immediately.

We got married in Vegas this past October. You can get your license and get married that same day, all I needed was my passport and a bit of information regarding my parents for the application. Super easy, and Vegas is awesome.

Not sure... the only thing I've read is that Lompoc in SB can process it same day (license, marriage ceremony and legal certificate) while other places can take 2 weeks to have your certificate sent to the clerk then sent to you. We will do SB if that's the only place around us that will turnaround that quickly so we can start the EAD/AP process (we have a wedding in Canada in 6 months and I hope to be able to go with AP).

We were thinking Vegas because we could have a bigger party with friends and family and also because that's where my fiance and I met... so it's kind of fun to go back.

So sorry it took me so long to reply, I haven't been on in a while. We had our certified marriage certificate in about 10 days or so, you have to order it online. It was very easy.

Carol is the one to talk to at the Lompoc office. They are, however, only open certain days (M,W, F, I think). The reason they can do it so fast there, i think, is because they're adjacent to Vandenburg AFB, so military folks sometimes want to get it done in a hurry if they're deploying.

what documents would they ask from me (beneficiary) b'se I would not have gotten my CA state ID by then. Will my Canadian passport and birth certificate would do?

Also we would not have any witness at Lompoc as we want make it as our weekend ? will that be ok?

Were you talking about Rev. Carol Behar, the wedding officiant or is it someone different at the Lompoc office.

I was exploring the Lompoc official website & stumbled upon a list of wedding officiant by name Carol.
