Which seminar is needed for a F2A beneficiary? One that is married to a Filipino citizen. I'm looking at the website and I am not quite sure which seminar one should be taking. Thanks for any help.

Your better off starting a new thread then hijacking this thread. You would get a better response.

As Filipinos going abroad as fiancé(e)s, spouses or other partners of foreign nationals, you are required to attend the CFO's guidance and counseling session.

You'll find answers to your questions here: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1348:fiancee-spouses-and-other-partners-of-foreign-nationals&catid=140

And I was instructed just to show the visa when I have it so they can put sticker on my passport. They just gave me a certificate after ther seminar. And oh I get there 7:30 in the morning, and the seminar started 9:00am.

After my interview i called SLEC they told me they forwarded it at USEM same day of my interview.
July 29 I emailed SLEC to confirm again when did they forwarded my Medical Result at USEM. They replied...forwarded April 13.
July 30 status update date change FINALLY.
September 2015 went in US embassy to withdraw my passport coz I've waited for how many months and no approval yet. Only to find out my case file has been sitting in the corner ...no one reviewed my medical result. to make the story short, I took medical again for the second time , then after a my medical result released, I have my visa on my hands.

It appears that it is Manila only from reading the notice.

They won't let you register online unless you can supply them with a visa number. We don't have that yet so our hands are tied. Interview is May 20.

Thanks for the new link. I just tried it, and the dates are all wide open. You tell them you don't have a visa yet and they will not bug you for the visa number.

They doubled the number of slots per day to 60 MTW and 45 TF.

This might actually work well.

Maybe it is because this is run by the Phillipines govt and not the US govt? The US govt has 2 speeds: Slow and stop. And one rule: Never do anything well when a complicated bureaucracy will do it worse and slower.

So you can still attend the seminar before having the visa?

Actually they are. Candy will arrive in Manila on the 11th and do her medical on the 12th and 13th. The 14th will more than likely be a zoo as a barrage of ladies trying to beat the clock will no doubt be there.

The online system actually looks quite good now, a lot better than i expected.

Ahhhh, Candy isn't close by Manila... that is ah "oh well" then, need to wait for the visa I guess.

The scheduling idea is nice, but needing the visa number truly sucks pond scum...

I'm sure once the system is up and running and the kinks are ironed out that this is actually a good idea. Hopefully it will be executed well. I remember in 2010 my month of the interview was the first time USEM implemented the online scheduling and everyone was also going nuts, there was a huge thread about it here in VJ.. But it all went well, and now everyone just sees it as the norm. We gotta keep up with the times!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

Hank I think we can beat that. They give a choice in the menu that you don't have a visa. You pick that and they don't bug you for the visa number.

Candy works in Hong Kong purusant to an OFW contract. She has no choice but to quit now and fly back home because you sign up for these jobs in one year increments. While those in Phil with regular day to day jobs could go back home and squeeze a few more weeks of work out of their remaining time, Candy can't do that. Her last day of work will be Saturday May 10, and her next job will be here in New York when she gets her EAD.
