Hey Guys, just letting you know that effective May 15th, CFO will be implementing online appointment system. No more falling in line at 3am in the morning!

Press Release: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/images/Press_Release_on_CFO_Online_Appointment_System_2014.pdf

Pre Registration is on the CFO website. http://www.cfo.gov.ph/

Hope this helps!

This is awesome news! I need to attend the seminar, and get hold of the CFO certificate in order to have my passport renewed, reflecting my married name soon. Then I can make arrangements at work to accomplish this in one day.

Thank you so much for sharing, DandC!

Cheers,

Jae

I can only deduct from the experience with the new system that some things will change and others will stay the same.

No more waiting outside at all hours of the morning to get what little seat inventory is available. I like the fact from a safety standpoint that our fiancé's will not be out in the early morning hours putting them possibly in harms way.

Requiring the issuance of a valid visa will eliminate those who are denied and had attended the CFO from taking an appt. that someone else who did get approved.

I can only imagine that if appointments on line are made and there are "no shows" that inventory of seats goes unused. To prevent that from happening, they are only going to take those with approved visas.

I see this as a step in the right direction but I can see how having your visa in hand before taking the CFO can hinder some individuals but the enhancement of the new systems has more positives then negatives.

I am delighted you got in so easily. I heard stories of people getting bumped who showed up at 1 AM.

The online system would not let us proceed to the next page until we gave them a valid visa number and date of issuance, and it was not accepting blanks either.

That is good to know, one more system to learn the ins and out of, that pretty much means one will not be able to complete CFO early anymore... that really sucks.

Doesn't have to be, especially if one has better things to do with their time than stand in line. I certainly do.

Appointments are a good thing.

And when have you went to the doctors office with an appointment and "not" sat in line? ;)

And what if it takes 2 months to get an appointment, whereas you can now get your CFO the day after your visa is issued as long as you are willing to stand in line? How is that an improvement?

On the rare occasion my wait has exceeded 30 minutes past my appointment, I leave.

Most of the time I'm seen within 10 minutes of my scheduled time.

Now, the emergent care clinic is a different story - no appointments mean a wait of sometimes an hour or so. Very frustrating.

:o Oh, who says you won't get an appointment after the visa is issued? There is no guarantee under either system you will be able to get and appointment after your visa is issued on "the next day". If you see in my post I said that "it can hinder some individuals" meaning exactly what you said. But I go on to say that there are more positives then negatives. I like my cup to be half full.

I think the new online system is a good thing, however I'm unsure how long the wait will be to get an appt after my fiancée receives her visa. I don't want to take the chance on it taking weeks. So I would like her to take care of the CFO before the changes take place next month. We were just approved our NOA2 last week, so is it possible she can attend CFO this early? Do we need to have the MNL case number or an interview scheduled already?

It is not taking anyone two months to get into CFO now so I see no reason for it to change with the new system, all they have really done is eliminate the early morning gathering to wait in line "hoping" to get a seat.

Wow! That was quick, Zedayn! Congrats on the fast approval! :dancing:

No, your fiancee doesn't need to have the MNL# and interview appointment. It's probably best that your fiancee attend the seminar before May 15 to avoid the uncertainty of the CFO's new system. As you know, she just have to return for the sticker after she got her visa. Hank's site has the list of documents normally asked for. You know what to do. :)

The one place I don't want to see Candy wait in line is at the medical. Since they only take cash, each lady has at least $225 in her pocket. A robber going up and down the line can get a year's salary for the average Filipino in one morning.

It escapes any sensible reasoning why they don't take credit cards online for that. I would have paid it by now with my credit card if that were the case. They get paid sooner, our fiances are safer, and I sleep better. Everyone wins except the robbers.
