Good evening all

We got our NOA2 in 14 days! dated april 11/14, so waiting for the NVC process right now, and I know it will take MORE than 2-4 week. So far, the documents are not yet at the US consulate in the DR, here are my questions:

1. How long does it takes from the US Consulate to set a date for the interview from the moment they get my case, base in your experience? I heard it could be a matter of days or a week, but I have seen cases here in VJ that the interview date took more than 2 months after getting the case from the NVC. This is a problem, because I really would like some time to get the required documents and had them translated in english.

2. Can I start to gather the documents that the US Consulate in the Dominican Republic website already says that I need to bring on the visa interview day? Its a matter of dates, if they want those documents dated closer to the day of the interview or it doesn't matter as long as the documents don't have an expiration date? These documents are police and birth certificates among others.

3. Among other documents, military record, I wasn't in the army nor the navy, etc, but I was in the police, not anymore since 1998, should I bring those records even If I was discharged 16 years ago?

4. At the US Consulate in the Dominican Rep website, there is a list of forms, I know I have to fill out the DS160, but there is a list DS230 part 1, DS156 (DS156k), I guess the packet IV will tell me which forms besides the DS160 which other ones I should fill out as well.

Sorry sorry, just a bit excited and worried and stuff, all at the same time.

Any help is very well welcomed!

1-to get an appoinment date take 3 or 4 months in DR.

2-for the papel de buena conducta ( police certificate ) is matter the date.

This papers is only good for one month.

So you need get it 20 or 15 days before interview.

You can get the others papers now.

3-yes bring that record.

4-the only form you need is ds-160 and ds-156k, I submited the ds-160 one month before my interview.

The ds-156k you submite the day of the interview.

Dont sing ds-156k, you sing in front of the consul.

You dont need translate any documents.

You submite them in spanish.

you got your NOA2 in 14 days !!! are you sure thats what you got ? i ,mean lots of us having waiting for months and yet nothing ! i guess you are a really lucky person.

Yes, and last week we got the NVC letter that it will forward the petition to the US consulate and assigned us a case number.

I'm just waiting for the consulate to contact me.

We are as surprised as anyone else here, we didn't expect it to be this soon, I was hoping for a few months to get ready but now I am rushing everything now.

...i guess we have been lucky too.

The medical exam is very easy.

The take ray-x, after that they take blood for the blood test, and a doctor make you questions without wach you.

You answer and thai is all.

I thought that they were going to make an examination in your body and wach you very well, but no only the doctor ask if you smoke, if you have tuberculosis, if you have any venerial ill, and that is, without wach your body.
