Travelling without Green Card on IR1 status

I am in a wired condition. Hope someone can help me. I recetly arrived in USA on on fmaily immigration visa which i received through my wife. We have been married for four years. I have received IR1 green card. Due to some miss understanding my wife has taken my green card but I still have my passport with visa which is still valid. I have to travel back home for an emergency and i dont have time to apply for a new green card. Please advise is it possible that i can travel without green card and come back to US. Can you help me to under stand following statment on my visa "upon endorsement serves as temporart I-551 evidencing permanent residence for1 year".

If I cannot entre US without green card what options do I have?

Also is it possible my wife can stop me to coming back to US.

Your endorsed immigrant visa itself acts as a temporary green card for a period of up to one year, so that can be used for travel and work purposes.

Why has your wife taken your green card? And why would she want to prevent you from coming back to the US?

Why does your wife have your green card? Tell her it's yours. She can give it back to you because it belongs to you or she can explain to the police why she stole your card.

To get a replacement green card, you will need to attest that the original was lost or stolen. Why are you going to say? My wife wouldn't give it to me? Lie that it was lost or stolen?

I'd probably worry more about where your wife is and what she's doing than where your green card is.

Ignore the requests demanding details of your tumultuous relationship by some members here.

I understand you and your wife are going through a difficult patch & hope your issues get resolved. You can travel outside the US with your passport, the visa inside is valid for up to one year from the date that it was activated (when you first arrived in the US). If it has been over a year, you should not travel without your gc. Best of luck.

You need to explain that the GC is your legal property and if she does not return it, you will have to report that she has stolen it to the police. Being that it is your legal document for being in the USA the police will go to the home to help you retrieve it. You need that to travel. If after confrontation with the cops she say she does not have it, make an infopass appointment with the police report, explain the situation and see if they can put the I551 stamp for your travels...

This sounds like middle school BS... A green card is NOT someones lunch money... It is YOUR legal identity... And she cannot legally deny you that! What she is doing is illegial... Call her bluff on it.
