missed biometrics appt.

Our lawyer received the notice for our biometrics appointment over a month ago, and for some reason she failed tell us about it (the appt. was scheduled for Dec. 2nd) Now she says that I can just go to the immigration office and get fingerprinted. On the appointment letter, it says that if you don't show up for the appointment, your case is considered abandoned.

Has anybody been through a similar situation?

Go physically check your notice. I'm pretty sure on ours it says "on **** Day or any of the following wednesdays between (such and such times) before (insert date within like...2 months or something) "

Our biometrics was scheduled for 11/27/06 at 9 am. Idaho Falls, Idaho office.

I'm sure it will be fine if you call and check your date and time.

I'd also kick my lawyer's #######.

I missed my biometrics appt. too. It was their fault but I was really worried too. When I went for my interview the officer gave me a letter and I did it the same day. But I was told to go there in person as well. It was too close to our interview so I just waited.

Yeah, mine says the same thing....says if we missed the appointment we can come on certain days between certain hours. And I would tell your attorney I want some money back since he is not doing his job correctly.

We are just coming back from the district office. Ever since they are independent contractors that do the job, everyone is so nice!

They took my husband's fingerprints and we were done in less than an hour.

Wow, are you forgiving. I did the K1 visa & the AOS on my own, saved myself tons of money & had no missed appts or late filings. The lawyer only needs to gather & file your AOS. Then she recevies a biometrics appt notice & possibly an RFE form to pass on to you. Only that for her to do & STILL she forgot one of them!!!

Yeah, mine says the same thing....says if we missed the appointment we can come on certain days between certain hours. And I would tell your attorney I want some money back since he is not doing his job correctly.

Mine didn't say that I could go in on certain days. It just told me to check off whether Wed or Sat afternoon was better and send in a request for rescheduling.

demand a full refund since your lawyer doesnt seem to have any clue of what professionalism is...once you have obtained your refund, THEN fire her!
