Is there scientific evidence that the earth was created 6000 years ago?

There's incontrovertible evidence that it wasn't.

And not just geology and rocks. There are so many different lines of reasoning and evidence that all irrefutably prove a much, much older universe.

Everything from Doppler red shifts of receding stars and galaxies to the decay signature of background cosmic radiation to the changes within DNA looking back through evolutionary history offer clocks that calibrate and independently measure and confirm a consistent timeline.

All the evidence clearly indicates a universe approx 13.8 billion years old, a sun and solar system approximately 4.5 billion years old, the formation of a cooling Earth surface with liquid oceans and initial atmosphere about a billion or so years after that, the first single celled organisms shortly after, and the multicellular life, vertebrates, complex organisms within the past 500 million years or so.

The Rabbi in my synagogue, a nice and smart person but hopelessly devoted to his theology, would have me believe that carbon dating can be explained away by "The Flood" and thus allow him to retain the myth that we're in the year 5774 תשע״ד since the universe was formed.

As if somehow the story of Noah would explain radioactive decay? Not sure how. Let's say it does. What does Noah have to say about the uniform red shift in all observable directions? Or about the clear evidence of plate tectonics evidenced by clear signs that Antarctica was once tropical, and India once an island before it slammed into the Kush and formed the Himalayas.

Surprisingly enough, in this week's installment of the series, DeGrasse Tyson dedicated the entire show to the contribution of conspicuously unknown and uncelebrated women, who pretty much laid off the foundation to modern astrophysics and yet remain in silent obscurity...
