The Creationists I speak of are those who insist on having the Biblical story of Creation taught in Science classes at schools. Creation, a story wholly reliant on faith in a written text, with no record of substantiation beyond the realm of human history.

Answer enough for you? <_<

What groups are calling for bible stores as the basis for creation in the public classroom?

I ask because I am not aware of any but you know more about it than do I so please give me something to go on, because on the face of it is sounds silly.

Your exact claim was "The Bible IS science" where did you get that from?

At the end of the day, most organized religions just want the cash,,,the moolah..el dinero....nothing else matters.

The fountain of ignorance flows forth.

Religious people all around you donate more time, more money and more resources to help the neediest at home and abroad.

If everyone followed you, millions across the world would be hungry tomorrow. Hundreds of thousands of children would suddenly be with no orphanage.

Soup kitchens would close and even the work on Habitat fur humanity would grind to a halt.

It takes organizations to get things done and that takes money.

I was in a conversation yesterday with a lady in a developing country, this lady has dedicated her life to caring for the "short bus people" mental defects.

In her country these people are nothing, pushed out of sight and forgotten, no one even wants to look at them and there is no funding other than a small filthy building for them to sleep in.

A church from the USA supports this woman and the few others called to serve these boys. Without that church from Ohio their life would not be human.

There are hundreds of thousands of such things being done through churches and synagogs and other faiths.

You should be ashamed of yourself to disparage decent people who give more of their lives and money than must of us will.

I don't doubt for a minute we can locate individuals but he was not referring to random views, from what little I know, there are creationist organizations, he seemed to be quoting them.

I don't like to see anyone misrepresented... it is cheap yet also revealing about the person doing it.

These two former friends do belong to organization that are trying to force schools to teach creationism if evolution is taught. One is near Austin and another near me in League city. I do know about 10 years ago they were denied after a long fight. They of course were strung along by a few politicians as long as the campaign money flowed in but when the votes came up they voted against it. Thsi comes up every time new school books are being considered.

Bro, you are talking about something completely different. The claims was "The Bible is science and they want to teach the bible as the source.

So far no one has established that claim as true.

From what little I have gathered on the topic,....of course they want creationism taught along side, but they are basing it on science and not the bible as the source but rather on actual science.

I get the impression most people have never even explored these groups to see what they are saying claiming and the number of highly educated people involved.

Facts and science can be be "interpreted" in different ways.

Is there scientific evidence that the earth was created 6000 years ago?

Of course, there is evidence that many of the stories in the Bible did seem to happen to real people, but the accounts in Genesis. as a whole, would not seem to be among those, The first book of the Bible seems to be a collection of various myths borrowed from various cultures during the Babylonian Captivity.

We keep veering back to the bible when no one has shown the Bible to be the foundation for creationist theory, they may personally see a link but they seem to use terms as "intelligent design"

... meaning life came from a designer.

Whats funny, is this is not a topic that really interests me but these conversations prompt me to look into these topics I other wise and too busy to know anything about..... such as "intelligent design theory."

And when you do look into it you find their positions are misrepresented with claims that I challenged here and apparently I was on to something because my challenge has gone in answered.

(The Bible IS science)

We fear that which we know the least about.

That might explain the apoplectic phobia of evolution expressed by some.

Danno I know these people and I know what they are trying to teach. They do use the bible as the basis for Creationism. Creationism is not science but they want it taught as a science.
