Police certificates - also from US?

We just filed our I-129F form yesterday for our K1-visa so we still have a ways to go, but I want to get prepared for the next step and I know getting some documents can take long.

When reading on package 3 for Montreal embassy I saw that they require a police certificate for every country you lhad your residence in. Well I lived in the US for 3 years (before moving to canada) - so do I also need to get that certificate or is it not needed since the US embassy should have that information?

Just want to start that process if I need one - cause I know this can take awhile to get mailed back.

Also I am Belgian, so not the US citizen.

Thank you!

the US checks their own data base... You do not have to get a police certificate from there.

PS Montreal is a consulate.
