  1. 1. Putting aside the two royal families, what if 2016 was Rick Perry vs Andrew Cuomo?

    • I would vote for Rick Perry.
    • I would vote for Andrew Cuomo.
    • I don't know much about either candidate so I'd have to keep an open mind.

    • I wouldn't vote for either of the two. Neither is worthy of my vote for the Presidency.
    • I would write in Hillary Clinton because "it's her turn", damnit! Yeah I'm petulant like that.

    • I would write in Jeb Bush because these are demanding times and we need serious people in office. Nothing says serious like another prince from the royal family.

    • I would move to Costa Rica with Rush

ALBANY -- Fewer than 2 in 10 New Yorkers believe they are better off economically today than when Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo took office four years ago, according to a poll released Monday.

The Siena College poll also found that 52 percent of voters said the economic well-being within their family stayed the same under Cuomo, while 28 percent said things got worse.

Still, more voters -- 46 percent to 43 percent -- believe the state is on the right track and voters aren't ready to back anyone other than the governor in the fall elections. The poll showed 49 percent of voters would re-elect Cuomo, compared with 57 percent in January.

The poll found that in seven of eight top state issues, only 15 percent to 26 percent of voters see improvement under Cuomo. Another 24 percent to 45 percent said those issues worsened in Cuomo's first term. Overall, 19 percent felt they are better off economically than four years ago.

Those issues include business climate, equal rights, government corruption, the effectiveness of government, the economic well-being of most New Yorkers and the quality of education.

Sixty-four percent of voters still considered Cuomo an "effective" governor, down from 68 percent in April 2013. Forty-six percent said Cuomo was doing a good or excellent job, down from 54 percent in January.

Since the poll, Republican Rob Astorino, the Westchester County executive, ended months of speculation and announced his candidacy for governor. About two-thirds of voters said they don't know Astorino.

"There is definitely an opening for Astorino, but he needs a lot of money to accomplish three things," said Siena pollster Steven Greenberg. "He has to become known to the voters, he has to give voters a reason to vote for him, and he has to give a reason for voters to vote against Andrew Cuomo, which at the moment they don't have."

The poll questioned 813 registered voters March 16-20 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.

Cuomo and Astorino declined to comment.

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

Ever since I saw "Kill Bill: Vol. 2", my retirement plan has been to move to Costa Rica and open a whorehouse. It was during my online search for contacts in Costa Rica on an international pen pal site, that I met my future wife, as well as other women from Russia, Belarus, and even Tennessee. My plans got a little sidetracked. Oh, well!
