My wife and I were in PR this past weekend. While we were sitting on the beach at sunset two separate times black couples approached me and asked me to snap a picture of them together with the sunset.

Each time I wanted to say that their faces would be too dark to see if the sunset was behind them when I took the picture but I didn't. Had the couples been white I would have said it without hesitation.

Does this make me a racist?

I would have just communicated your observation another way.

No. And 36,000 out of 13,000,000 does not even represent half of blacks.

Let me help you out here. Lets take a word like "honky" which this word is used to describe white Americans in a negative way. But, you have plenty of country singers and white rappers who use this word. So if 36,000 white people approve of being called a "h### out of 223,553,265 does this mean that whites approve of being called a h####?
