Hello Members,

I wanted to let you all know about a new petition I created on We the People, a new feature on WhiteHouse.gov, and ask for your support. Will you add your name to mine? If this petition gets 100,000 signatures by May 23, 2014, the White House will review it and respond!

We the People allows anyone to create and sign petitions asking the Obama Administration to take action on a range of issues. If a petition gets enough support, the Obama Administration will issue an official response.

You can view and sign the petition here:

Here's some more information about this petition:

Reform the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) for Appeal Process to Allow Visa Applicants Legal Representation

Many visa applicants are denied visas from the decisions of consular officials without an opportunity to appeal their cases with legal representation. There are U.S. Embassies in countries where the applicant's spouse or attorney is not allow to attend the interview, causing confusion and miscommunication. There should be a policy/law created to provide visa applicants the opportunity to appeal their case that has been denied by consular officers; thus, providing families with a sense of security, fairness, liberty, and justice.

Being issued a visa is a privilege not a right, therefore an appeal of consular decisions is unwarranted.

Furthermore, adding an extra layer of complexity to the process is detrimental to the process as a whole.

I won't be signing this petition nor would I encourage anyone else to do so.

I am excited to see members responding to this post, but yet some belittle such a important cause. This post is not a spam nor a fraud. It is a post to encourage members to sign onto a petition to protest on the importance of immigration reform that supports the appeal process on case decisions at consular posts. I am an United States citizen whom love her country dearly and support all individuals seeking an opportunity to visit, study aboard, or immigrate to this country for its many opportunities. However, they are individuals that are denied visas with no opportunity to appeal their case after spending thousand of dollars.

U.S. Congress is currently working on immigration reform. If we can get enough signatures on this petition, then we have a shot at revising INA policies for appeal process at consular posts.

Milimelo, Congratulations on becoming US citizen on 06/29/2010! It would be nice to support others whom have the same dreams.

Please Everyone, Sign this Petition.

So, not spam? It would be in almost every other forum I participate in. New member comes in and starts a thread with a link to something he is promoting on another website. If that is not spam, I don't know what is.
