Do I have to wait for actual package 3 in the mail or can I send my paperwork once status is changed READY online???

Good morning ya'll,

first SORRY for the many questions I have posted lately. Just after the looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong wait for NOA1, now every day counts and I want to be back with my fiance as soon as possible. So I just looked up the ceac status update and it says READY (TO SCHEDULE INTERVIEW). I haven't actually received package 3 in the mail, but I have everything I need to mail to them ready to go. Can I go ahead and send it or do I have to wait until I have package 3 in the mail?? Does it contain anything that I need to mail back to them that cannot be found in the online link? Thank you all so much for all your help along the way - GOOD LUCK!!!

You could always e-mail the consulate and ask. Do you have the IV unit's e-mail address? (I know the address is written in Packet 3, but you obviously don't have that yet). I can pm it to you if you don't have it.

Everyone that I personally know from Germany waited for their packet 3 though.

PS: Your wait for NOA2 wasn't really that looooong. In the past two years, many people waited 6-9 months for their NOA2's (sorry I couldn't keep myself from this comment ;))

Then please check back the processing times for the end of 2012/early 2013. There were MANY people (including a good friend of mine) who waited 7-9 months or even longer for their NOA2. Just because processing times are generally fast right now doesn't mean that everyone has been that lucky in the past.

THANK YOU ALL :) I think 5 months is long enough. We have been living together for the last 5 years since I was there on a work visa...so being apart for that long was very hard. I have seen other people getting their NOA2s in 4 weeks too....but I guess Texas is just slooooww....

Anyhow, I do have the checklist from Frankfurt and I have collected everything, paid the fee, filled out DS160, so I guess I am ready to go :)
