Please be informed that the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit of the U.S. Embassy Manila is closed on April 28 and 29, 2014. In this regard, we are rescheduling your appointment and you are advised to come for your interview on May 2, at 7:30 in the morning. If you would like to re-schedule your appointment on a different date, you can visit http://UStraveldocs.com or call the call center number at 632902-8930 or 632-982-5555.

Thank you.

Does anybody had the same appointment as mine. Is this true? The embassy email me this.

Yes, I am very curious about you having an appointment with the nonimmigrant visa unit for your K-1 - totally the wrong place.

I will be watching this one for sure.

I personally cannot find anything to the effect that the NIV unit is closed on those dates. I would call the embassy and get clarification. If you are going to call do not cancel your appointment before verifying that they are closed and you have been rescheduled by the Embassy. This could be a scam but not sure.

And, like Hank said a K1 is an immigrant visa and is not covered by NIV. mmmmm

This is definitely unusual and strange. what was the email address used?

Agreed with the rest, K1 is processed by IV unit and there is no holidays or announcements for an April 28/29 closing. What is more strange is only you have shared that their interview is moved to a later date from April 28/29. I would expect there will be atleast 10 people complaining about that.

I thought K1 was a non immigrant visa.

The K-1 is a non immigrant visa, but as you know it is processed through the immigrant visa unit.

I like how you used the phrase "as you know". I think the correct phrase would be, "as you once knew, but obviously forgot"

But, us old people tend to forget things. You'll find out once you hit 40.
