TRAIN.

I have such fond memories of taking the train cross-country, meeting people in the lounge car, eating meals on fine china in the dining car while watching the sun set, and best of all, being rocked to sleep by the clickety-clack of the wheels and lazy shifting of the car.

It's been a while, but I always enjoyed going places on my motorbike, especially the last one I owned.

This one isn't mine, but looks just like it

It wasn't the fastest, or best handling 600 when I bought it, but it was the only one on which I could get my foot down and the red looked classy, when all the other bikes out there had gaudy graphics.

The best part was the journey, not the destination. Taking it all the way through France to see the Bol d'Or, when they held it at the Paul Ricard circuit, near Marseille, was fantastic. Good roads, good company, sunshine, the epic Ardeche Gorge and the last stretch chasing our group leader down the Autoroute at 140mph, with the engine howling at over 12,000rpm was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

And the Germans still blew past us like we were standing still.

I think I need a list.

Local: Public transit, especially subway. I grew up where there is no public transit, so it seems a miracle to me to be able to get places without having to drive yourself, and Toronto's public transit is AMAZING.

Within 800 miles: Car. I like long drives, much more than short ones. I used to get taken on 10 hour drives all the time when I was a kid and I love watching the scenery.

Further than 800 miles: Plane. I had never been on a commercial flight until this past November and it's absolutely amazing to watch the clouds and the earth beneath.

My favourite ever, which I have only gotten to ride on a few times, is a motorcycle, but I'll probably never get to be on one again, so.

Yeah my candy apple red Z3 BMW was my baby. I stil miss it.

Transatlantic cruise.... done 3 now....

10 hours sat upright in an uncomfortable seat, or 15-18 days, including food, entertainment ,visiting a few European ports and a balcony view of the sea....for the same price!!

No comparison!!!
