2 questions:

for the I864, on part 5 - household size, #6, where it says "if you have sponsored any othe persons on an i-864 who are now residents..." do ex-wives count? I married back in 2005 and divorced 2009. for her, I was the sponsor. I don't know her exact situation now, but I think she is now married and a U.S citizen (based on my Facebook feed). I'm not responsible for her anymore (right?), so does it make sense to add her to my hh size?

per the agreement, a divorce does not terminate a contract, so would I be expected to contact my ex-wife to provide them any information?

on the i864A, part 2 - # 13, where the sponsor signs the agreement, on the blank above "(indicate number)", is the the # of immigrants the sponsor is sponsoring? I,e, if it is just my wife, we would input "1" on that blank.

hi

you have to find out if she is a USC, if she is then you are off the hook. you only add her if she is a LPR

Thanks. I guess my question is, will immigration/nvc search and figure it out, or is it my responsibility to show it? I know she is USC, based on her Facebook posts a few years ago, but that is the only proof I have.

It'd a bit awkward to ask the ex wife to send me a copy of her u.s passport. Lol

I'm not sure I'd rely on fb postings as confirmation of her citizenship status.

Will adding your ex-wife make a difference in whether or not you meet the minimal financial requirements?

If not, then probably best to add her as a cautionary measure, perhaps with a note that you do not have confirmation of her USC status.
