Biometrics experience.

Just got home after my Biometrics session for my N-400 application and thought it might help someone else to know how it went.

Apart from the usual drab color of the paint on the wall and typical waiting room furniture the experience itself could not have been further removed from my previous INS experiences.

I know, I know.... This is not at an INS office (it was at an Application Support Center, so there were only three people waiting for sessions, not several hundreds in line overnight. Anyone here remember the old Dallas office on Stemmons Freeway where the first in line got there at about 7pm the previous evening? It was like a little "club" of "visa system victims" ... Maybe I'll get to do that again.... Hope not!

The people were all smiles, friendly and even appeared.... HAPPY TO SEE ME!!! "Ah yes Sir, Please do come into this area and we can get started." Never have I had this experience with the old INS... It was a bother for them to just be there... This was........ Pleasant. (No, I don't think I would ever say that about dealing with with this process).

:dancing:

She completed the form she needed, copied my A# off my Alien card and walked us over to the machines. Told me what to do and positioned my fingers and thumbs as needed. She stamped the receipt on the form, added the info she needed to it, gave me the questions booklet with CD inside returned my alien card and NOA form, sending me on my way. "We'll send you an interview appointment in about four weeks. Have a great afternoon. Bye"

:wow:

Total time spent in there was about 5 minutes. If only all retail experiences were like this, I shop more often.

Now for the next phase of all this.....

The Biometrics offices have been made very friendly. It will no doubt be your best experience with the process.

Don't forget the fill out one of the survey cards before you leave.
