I been reading the material over and still have questions. So many initials, different departments and sites.

First I am the United States Citizen (USC). My fiancee, she is from tijuana, mexico.

She just lost her mexican ID, but will pick it up on May 1, 2014. So we are limited on what we can do.

From travel.state.gov I find the following process:

FIRST STEP: Petition for i129f. Done and approved. I just got the NO2 (approved 4/11/14) got by mail 4/15/14.

SECOND STEP: "tHE nvc WILL MAIL YOU A LETTER WHEN IT SENDS YOUR FIANCEE CASE TO THE U.S. EMBASSY OR CONSULATE [MY CASE JUAREZ]. ONCE YOU RECIEVE THIS LETTER INFORM YOUR FIANCEE TO TAKE THE BELOW LISTED ACTIONS TO APPLY FOR K1 VISA AND PREPARE FOR INTERVIEW.

required docs, include but are not limited to: ds-160:

Police certificates:

THE JUAREZ CONSULATE WEBSITE TELL ME:

FIRST: COMPLETE DS 160 AND PRINT CONFIRMATION LETTER The go to mexico.usvisa-info.com to schedule both an appointment at the ASC and Consular interview.

SECOND COMPILE DOCS:

THIRD APPEAR;

QUESTIONS: 1) the applicant in the DS-160 is my foreign fiancee?

2)) Can I partially fill out the DS-160 from my L.A. home and drive to tijuana and have her finish it under my instructions?

3) What is CEAC? Is there a seperate fee?

4) DS 160 has a questions that asks where is applicant applying? is answer Juarez (even though she is from TJ)?

5) Where does one apply for ASC?

6) Fiancee lost ID anything she can do in the meantime to move process further?

7) I have not recieved anything since 4/15/14 no2 approval letter. Should I wait to get something by mail or what can I do to be more proactive (girlfriend can't do anyting without ID).

8) FEEs: medical =$190; MRV = $240; ASC = no fee; travel/hotel = unknown; anything else???

9) DOES ANYBODY KNOW THE SOONEST THEY ARE SETTING APPOINTMENT FOR:ASC IN JUAREZ? FOR CONSULAR INTERVIEW IN JUAREZ?

10) WHAT IS DHL? IS THAT THE DELIEVERY SERVICE?

Regarding the DS-160, this is what we did. I helped her to fill as much as I could, we were both online at the same time, she was telling me the details the DS-160 asks. Just before submitting it , I stopped there, and let her sign it. The instructions clearly explain, she MUST be the one who electronically sign it.

I think there is a question asking if anybody help to fill the form, of course she answered yes to that. I think she mentioned my name. As far as I am concerned nothing is wrong helping your fiancee fill a form, singing electronically the form for her is a complete different story!

I helped Candy fill hers out too. Of course we disclosed that fact where it asks at the bottom. There is a way of saving a partially done form on your computer and loading it back later. I saved what I did and send it to her as an email attachment. A few more back and forths, and she loaded it on her computer for the last time and submitted it.

Make sure she does the final submit from her computer. They can tell by the IP that it came from a US location, so if you do that part for her, it will not work.

(1) As far as I know, yes the beneficiary is now the applicant because she/he is the one applying for a visa, not you.

(2) Yes, as long as you have internet access, you can start the application/save/continue. Check dept. of state website for more info (NVC)

(3) CEAC is the website where you will need to fill out the online form DS-160. Here is their website: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

**You will need your NVC case number to be able to start your application. If you do not have it, then call the NVC and request it. It may take some time before they can give it to you over the phone (not sure how long) but it is better to try a couple times a week than to wait for the letter from NVC as that usually takes longer).

(4) Not 100% sure but I would think it's Juarez

(5) Don't know

(6) She lost her credencial I assume. I know they ask for the credencial in MX for just about anything. Does she already have her passport? She could use that to request the police certificates that she will need

(7) Call NVC (National Visa center) to get your case number so you can start the application online, pay visa fees, start on affidavit of support (in case you need one) -- if you do not need one, may be good to take one anyway. I think it's the I-134 for you but double check the K1 Visa Guide on Visa Journey.

(8) Do you have YOUR birth certificate? YES you will need yours for Juarez. At least that applies to me since I am requesting my husband and I know I will need mine as well. Your fiance will need hers as well. Police certificates/passport photos of her/any future flights/hotel plans you may have with her.

(9) Don't know

(10) DHL is just like FedEx or UPS -- they are a delivery service. She will have to choose the DHL location where she wants her visa delivered to. She may choose the one in Ciudad Juarez or the one in Tijuana. However, delivery time differs from when you receive your visa in one versus the other. Not sure of the timeline for either, sorry.

This is all I know. If anyone else can guide him, that would be awesome!

Also, take a look at the NVC forum and maybe some threads there can guide you. Best of luck!!

Yes, you can help her fill out and submit the DS-160.

CEAC is the Consular Electronic Application Center. It does not cost anything to fill out the DS-160. https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

Yes, the only place in Mexico to apply is Juarez.

Answered about the process here > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/491231-what-to-expect-after-no2-ciudad-juarez-process/?p=6947448

The instructions tell everything you need to do and bring. The link for the ASC and interview scheduling contains all the info about that. You need to register at that site. Once you pay the fee, it will show the full calendar for the interview dates available. You schedule the interview and then you can schedule the ASC.

Lost ID? She needs her passport to apply for a K-1 visa. She cannot apply without the passport.

You can fill out the DS-160 , get all the documents together, pay and schedule the ASC and interview before getting the letter from Juarez. However, be sure that Juarez already has your case file. It take a few weeks. Do you even know if your case has reached the NVC yet? Call them. Get the info on your case such as the case# from them. They can also tell you if it has been sent onto Juarez yet.

Yes, DHL is the service the consulate uses to deliver your visa packet. http://www.dhl.com.mx/en.html

All that is required is proof of being a USC. You do not have to have a US birth certificate. Give your fiance(e) a copy of your passport or naturalization certificate to take to the interview. Yes, I know they ask for originals, but people use copies all the time because no one wants to mail off their actual passport or naturalization certificate.

Usually you only need to prove that you're a US Citizen and that's it. Not the case with Juarez. I know for a fact that I need my birth certificate as well even though I am a citizen of the US. Vitalchek is a good source that someone on VJ recommended. If I were you, I would get a certified copy and send to your fiancé. Sometimes the requirements for the consulate differ from what is normally requested others.

Since your process may be different from mine, here's the NVC website for your review.

If they were not born in the US, then they do not have a US birth certificate. It makes no difference what consulate it is for. They provide proof of being a US citizen, which they did with the I-129F petition. They can provide a copy of the same proof for the K-1 visa interview, which is their naturalization certificate or copy of their US passport. No one can provide something that does not exist.

It actually does not even state an original is needed. Copies are fine.

From the Juarez instructions > http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/k1k4dec13.pdf

10. Proof of the petitioner’s U.S. citizenship. This might include a birth certificate or U.S. passport.
