hello friends,

hope every one had a great weekend :)

last week i filled my ds-260 form online & sent all supporting documents BUT i did not send PCC certificate !!!!!!

As i am from INDIA and my cosulate is MUMBAi consulate. In my state,passport office is asking for checklist or about interview e-mail from the NVC to issue a PCC

i called nvc 3 times and the lady operator told me that "there is no need to send PCC with this package i have to take it at the time of interview with me".

so ,there is a chance to receive check list from nvc about the submission of PCC ???

i already include the letter written by me,in the civil documents, that i will take the PCC at the time of interview with me and signed & dated the page.

please advise me with this specially members who have Mumbai consulate and who faced this situation....

It depends on person who process your case. I knew some cases processed without PCC and applicant must be bring it in the interview while other cases NVC requested the PCC during process the case. Who knows.....

April 1, 2014 : Case shipped to NVC

April 11, 2014 : Case received

May 3, 2014 : Got Case number/IIN

May 8, 2014 : DS-261 Completed

May 9, 2014 : AOS Invoiced and paid

May 12, 2014 : AOS status "PAID"

May 13, 2014 : AOS Package sent via UPS

May 16, 2014 : AOS Package received by NVC

May 20, 2014 : AOS Package scanned into the system

June 6, 2014 : IV Fee Invoiced and pay

June 9, 2014 : IV Package sent via UPS

June 10, 2014 : DS-260 Completed and Submitted

June 12, 2014 : IV Package received by NVC

June 16, 2014 : IV Package scanned into the system

June 19, 2014 : AOS Approved

July 29, 2014 : Case Complete

September 30, 2014 : Interview at 8AM

You will get a checklist but also get approved. So dont worry. Take it to the embassy with you.

3/2/2018: Filed N400 - San Antonio TX

3/14/2018: i751 Case transferred to Local Office

9/25/2018: Interview scheduled for N400, November 13th

Dont worry. PCC is not mandatory at NVC stage if your consulate is Mumbai. But just make sure to bring it for the interview.

Also, if you look at http://www.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/welcomeLink, you can submit an online application for PCC and I dont see any requirements for the interview Email in this.

Costa Rica is the same. NVC operator told me I'll get an approval with a checklist with instructions on how to obtain the cerificate and to bring it to the interview. Police certificates are only good for a short time in Costa Rica.
