I thought I'd report this, if it is at all an indication of how long interview scheduling is taking.

I am at the NVC stage of the process right now, but decided to rejoin my husband in Egypt for another 2 years because I got a really good foreign hire 2 year contract there that I couldn't pass up- especially after being here a year with my son and us all being separated. I found that you can delay NVC processing simply by submitting the documents slowly and contacting them once a year.

I also contacted the US embassy in Egypt to see if I can delay there as well (I am trying to bide our time so we can return together to the US two years from now, basically). So I asked the US embassy what if (as an example) my husband is traveling and can't make it to the scheduled interview date and time in Cairo. They said that they will reschedule the interview 4-5 months from the initial date.

So that made me wonder if that, in general, not just for rescheduling 4-5 months is how long it's taking to get an interview. I thought I'd share that tidbit because it seems like that may be some insight into how long it takes to get the interview.

I wish we had more data, you know? It's so hard to guess based on just a few cases. Maybe it will be a longer wait than we think, but then again maybe not! There's obviously tons of cases and we just can't access what's going on with them. I am really praying all of us waiting on the embassy there have good luck.

I am very seriously considering returning to Egypt on a foreign hire contract starting from the summer (I'm a teacher). I'm sick of waiting it out here in the US to be honest. I figure by the time the visa is issued and anyway you have 6 months to enter after issued which would pretty much bring me to this time next year.

I agree not much information and the bad cases always stick out more than any others for obvious reasons. Still they discriminate against Muslims that is a given.

I'll just say thing, If I were you I would stay the course because unless you can easily get out of your contract it's not worth it. You've come so far why risk it. Just my own opinion and I know how you feel and how lonely it is to wait. But we have to see the big picture. Ty for the prayers I pray for the same myself and I'll be praying you take the right step in this matter because it's not an easy one to make. :)

Just looking at the husbands' first names, neither are Christian. Dunno where you got that from.

I can't be held accountable for my actions or statements I'm still under USCIS brain freeze and the noggin just isn't working as well as it used to. I'm sticking to that, can't even remember why I said that or found it. hahahaa      Sorry.

My case was complete at the NVC on February 6th, I was looking at a spread sheet earlier and it looked like all of the people who were finished in December had appointments in June, and none of the people who finished in January had appointments yet so I think it's safe to assume if you finished at the NVC in January, you will be getting an appointment for July. Can anyone else corroborate this, or help me figure out who is getting appointments now. Then maybe we can figure out who will be getting appointments next. I don't remember where it was that I saw that spread sheet unfortunately but I was looking at it only a few days ago and it only had Egypt timelines on it. I think if we get group together tho with everyone's completion dates and schedule dates, maybe we can start predicting when people will get their appointments.

Soloenta, your case was approved within days of mine- we will have to compare notes on how long it takes to get through NVC and when the interview dates are.

I was hoping that my husband's interview would be in July or August so I could go with him. The one thing I know from getting his previous green card there is that the wait can be long and boring!

Amber anything new did you get your IV paid? I'm still waiting :(

Sorry I took so long been busy and sick all at the same time. This would be great but how to do it, seems like a really long time to wait for an interview.:(
