#######!?? Lack of continuing relationship was questioned at Lana's interview. 9 pictures, emails, paltalks, delivery receipts, phone records, engagement ring & receipt supplied. What is going on? It was questioned why I had only been to russia once. All in the span of 10-15 minutes and my Lana is excused...DHL us more information...Next! I'm livid. Called the embassy, but they'll only take email and won't discuss over the phone, so I sent one. Two to three day response promised - Alright!! Hopefully the Senator's office can help in the AM, don't know what else to do.

Man that sucks!!!

I hope your Senator can get to the bottom of this for you.

Start sending more stuff to her right now. If they want more "proof" start doing it. I'd start with a big fat post card that says "FU@K USCIS!" on the front, then send some more pictures, some more letters, etc.

Let us know when you find out more.

Ummmm.... When he received his NOA2 he was finished with USCIS and went to the Department of State which is responsible for NVC and the Consulate, so "flipping off" the USCIS is the wrong culprit.....

YMMV

Man, that really sucks. I wonder if we had the same consul, what a ######! I called the embassy, ($1.75 a minute) twice and they said they are doing their internal investigation type. I would suggest you do the same, call 1-888-222-5673 and request information on your fiancee's status.

Good luck to all of us, we will need it.

Mike.

What were the 9 pictures of? Taken during your pre-petition visit? If so, that does not show an ongoing relationship......

I won't ask of the other items because they could I suppose.....

They have me faxing individual email printouts to the embassy now. Lana's 'list of emails' printout was unacceptable, they want to read through them. They won't define how many they want. I just printed the last 30 days, about 40 pages. So I'm going to fax the last two months.

I had to open up an 'Inquiry' at the Embassy for the cost of $37 on my credit card to get anywhere. Pitiful. Immigration Section fax no. there is 011 495 728 5247 if anyone ever needs it. Four day turn around time. I haven't heard back from my Senators office, hopefully my contact can possibly expedite it.

All the consular had to do was pick up the phone and call me. Same as gogal deserved. I could have forwarded or faxed as many as she wanted while Lana waited. No humanity is this, just send the girl on her way in tears.

Another reason to be there when your girl has her interview. If she comes out with tears, you go immediately into the door for US citizens and raise hell. Helped in our case when they tried to deny my fiancee's daughter.

To be honest I am surprised more ladies that have only had one visit from their fiance dont get denied for lack of ongoing relationship. A good set of phone records will be a great help. That's why it is important to use a phone card which keeps a record of calls. They looked at that during my girls interview.

To expect the consular to pick up the phone and call you.....you don't really expect that now do you?

Still, this really is unfortunate and I hope you all get it resolved quickly. Best of luck to you.

I've heard recently that the COs are looking for "lovey-dovey" type stuff.

One thing Elena said the CO was impressed with at her interview was the fact that I had sent her a few hand-written letters in Russian over the years. Maybe you (future) guys could do this too.

She also made it sound like she was all in love and "sunshine and puppy dogs."

It seems as if you have to really sell the relationship part now. We all get focused on the paperwork aspect and forget that we have to prove that we "love" these people sitting in the interview chair!

GET MUSHY!!! It may help!

I have sent lots of Emails and SMS messages talking about the great sex we had and how much I missed that! Would that be considered Love'y Dove? maybe they might get a thrill reading some of the saved SMS or Emails describing the passionate act???

I have been in the exact same situation with my first fiancee so I know exactly what it feels like. I am guessing you got a 221-G, a blue slip.

I too was shocked because I thought I had done a great job of documenting the relationship. I had visited her every 6 weeks to two months for a week or two at a time and was waiting out in front of the embassy. I will say that in my case my fiancee missed two questions that she should have known the answer too and to be honest in retrospect perhaps they were smarter than me becasue the relationship did not work out.

In my case I contacted the immigration specialist at my congressmans office. I don't know how much it helped but it didn't hurt. The don't seem to care much about having sent presents for special days and the reciepts I furnished for those. Lots of e-mails will help. Real letters are better. Phone records are something they seem to look at hard. With my former fiancee we sent about 20 sms messages a day. They did not seem to be too impressed with that. In the building of our relationship I liked them a lot, in proving it they were not of much use. We came up with one phone record where she had called me and a couple where I had called her a few times. They seemed to help. We sent photos taken in January, March, April, June and July and that may have helped a bit. We did get the visa about 3 weeks after the interview.

Personally I am not much into talking on the phone. Every once in a while I call my fiancee but our e-mails are long and often. A few months before our interview I plan to burn up the phone lines even tough it is hard to talk with the poor conections just so I have the phone records for the interview.

Yes, I agree with you Turbo. Now that my emotions have eased a bit, I'll shed some more light on the interview, as it may help others.

I think meeting on-line made a big difference. The interview started with questions regarding this, and with the consular even suggesting "You went on line to meet an American man, didn't you?". She was on the defensive right away. She also wanted the interview in Russian, although she speaks very good english. But the consular kept asking questions in English, and in a very soft voice that was hard for her to hear completely. Still, I think she answered the questions very well and answered them all correctly. Oh..except one - she saw us talking about football on a ICQ and asked her the difference between Amer and European footall?? Lana didn't know. Anyway...

Along with everything else I mentioned in my original poest, Lana had 7 recent emails printed out, along with the list of emails we had sent/received, and two months of our cell phone bills. Consular requested more email CONTENT and phone records. By far, most of our communication is done by daily emails, ICQ, and voice paltalk on the weekends. I too found cell phone calls to be my least favorite due to clarity, and the time difference between us.

So, on Wednesday afternoon CST I faxed over phone records since April 2006, and daily full emails since 11/23/06. Reading through them, there should be no questions about our love and the relationship. The embassy has acknowledged receipt of the fax, and has told both of us independently that we should expect a response by Wednesday. They kept her passport, took her fee, etc. My contact at the Senator's office is out untiil Tuesday. I'll still ask her to reach out if she is able. I think we will be fine.

So, take out of this what you can. I'm not interested in debating should have/would have, etc here with anyone. Just want to pass this on in hopes it may help someone down the road. Thanks for your support, I'll keep you posted, and feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

PS - Neonred - Yes, I still would expect someone to call me with something so important. You may want to condone it simply because it's government, but I will not. And I don't believe me being the white night on my horse outside, ready to charge in and "raise hell" as you put it, would have made any difference.
