Hi everyone,

I found this board the other day it is just chock full of info. This board is a dream come true for those of us that need the help.

OK..to the point. My girlfriend and I are talking about the up and coming process and I have a question that will effect our decision on when to get married. I am currently station in Guam in the military and met my girlfriend when we visited a port. Love at first sight you can say. Anyway we have been writing, talking and have plans on being together forever. My question is, that since I am station in Guam can I still apply for a K1 Visa and marry my fiancé in Guam and then apply for AOS just like if I was in the States. Like I said earlier this would effect when we would we get married.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Travis

Yes, how ever the visa needs to be handled in Manila, you treat Guam just like any other state with regards to the K-1 process, she will return home to Philippines to wait and get K-1 visa.

How is she in Guam, is she a visitor?

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

YuandDan,

It does not sound like she is in Guam. They met when he visited a port (possibly a port in PI?)

YMMV

Sorry I didn't make that clear. We met in Palau where she works. She will be going back home soon.

Thanks, and that is great to here that Guam is treated like another state. I was starting to worry because I could not find any guidance on how to file if you are residing in Guam. If anyone has a link or info on the process that would be great!

Thanks everyone, I wish you all the very best in all that you do.

Travis

Thanks jsnearline, I didn't even think to look at the form but I found what you are talking about. Just Like YuAndDan said, Guam is no different that any of the 50 states. That is a BIG relife.

I told you all I am very new at this but I am very thankfull for all the help.
