Hi I'm a new to this site!

I was married last december 2013 to a US citizen. after the ceremony i apply for adjustment of status (I-485, I-765, I-131) together.I notice that my marriage certificate still using my middle name wen i was single, but now that i'm married i should drop out my middle and use my last name for my middle name and my husband last name.i was asking my husband about my middle name and he said it was fine.we send i-485, i-765,and i-131 last feb.2, 2014 and got notice of action march 8, 2014 for my Biometrics Appointment. Then this month April 17, 2014 i receive my Combo card (i-765 and i-131) APPROVE. My i-485 interview next month.I am so worried because of my EAD & AP middle name. PLEASE anyone can help that has the same problem with mine or any idea how to change my middle name.Thank you so much!..

Post has been split from a very old thread and given its own title.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Wow! old thread. You can change your name, first, middle, and/or last anytime you want to. it is only honey money!

Best of luck!

What name did you apply in? We're in a similar situation. My marriage certificate shows my maiden name and the court told us that is the only way they do it in our county. I applied in my married name (New middle name is old maiden last name and new last name is husband's last name) and the woman at our biometrics put my maiden middle name in, saying we should have a court order for it. The probate court and everywhere else (SS office, DMV) said that's B.S and the name change should be fine with the certificate I have. I applied in my new name and my NOA1/biometrics appointment letter all has the right name on it, and a Tier 2 IO at USCIS told us we should be fine and what she put in her system wouldn't matter as it's all right on their end.

Also previous poster is incorrect. What you can change varies state by state and the marriage licenses vary state by state also. Some would require you to get a court order.

Thank you visa journey!...

Done my i-485 interview last May 20, 2014 and thank you so much god for listening my everyday prayer.we got 11:45am in the building and security check after that, ahead to the window and give my appointment letter. On that day I can tell that there's a lot of people waiting for their interview and after 30seconds or less the officer (I.O.) called my name "softly" he is a really nice guy and gwapo :) honestly he is but my husband is more gwapo <3!.. I was really prepare for all the documents and reading timelines here in visa journey and it helps a lot but the I.O. Never ask any of my papers he only ask for my passport,I-94,ss#,and original EAD/AP card that's it and everything went well...he never ask anything to my husband and just a few question to me.my hubby always telling me that 'don't worry it's gonna be fine then the I.O. Said YEAH nothing to worry about!!! While I.O. Print some papers and handed it to me he explain about GC how long it takes something like that.hubby is talking And they both laughing ''blah blah " I never heard what my husband said... The I.O. Stand and said OK we're done "NO MORE QUESTION? Noooo and I thank him 3 times hehe just happy ;) he walk us through the door and said HAVE A GOOD DAY!..

So people that having their interview just pray hard and kept reAding about other people's journey it helps.just calm down and dress well because they are professional and they want us to be professional in front of them even just the day during the interview.and of cores wen they start the question( EYE CONTACT ) because they observe if your telling the truth or not! It's better to be ready and bring all documents than nothing.welcome letter arrived may 23, 2014 and hopefully my GC soon.

Good luck :')
