Sol-de-Verano, I finally understood what my husband says in his expression to mean "wow" or something similar, it's "diache" or "diantre".

Hmmmm, I think that would apply if you were saying God thanks ...

Is "trollo" the same there in PR?

What is a trollo? I guess it's not the same LOL (Dunno what that is?)

Sol-de-Verano, I finally understood what my husband says in his expression to mean "wow" or something similar, it's "diache" or "diantre".

Ah, Diache! Diaaaaantre! I use diantre but I don't think that word even has a real meaning other than WOW LOL... You may have also heard these 3:

Enfogonao (angry, enojado is d' proper word) arresmiyao (like when you eat something sour/or in pain)... Esmandao (going fast)...

As for the word "coger", Bora Bora is right, we use it as grab or catch but in some other places it appears to be an X rated thing lol... Not sure but I was told to be careful with that word ... In PR a clam is a "concha" and in Argentina, well.. it seems to be... We had a "Hotel La Concha" and los argentinos loved to take fotos there

It's the same language but with its variations, funny. ;)

 Luis likes to use Diache, when watching a football game it's one diache every few seconds. :P

I may have heard the others but since I still don't quite understand what people are saying I haven't actually "heard" it. :P When talking to Luis I use enojado though.

I honestly thought coger was to pick up, catch, in any country, now I'll be careful if I ever go somewhere else that speaks spanish. :P

And about people taking pics and laughing at stuff, Luis laughed tons in Brasil and I laugh everytime someone mentions a hole, since it means a bj in Brazil. :P

Actually, if you study the symbolism of a seashell, it's shape, you can totally see why concha would have that meaning in some countries.

or "see you in Church"

Now that is something you will NEVER hear coming out of my mouth! I'm afraid to try to get inside one and burst into flames :lol:

Nor I....Everytime I enter a church, there is a very scary voice from nowhere that says "GET OUT"...Besides, the holy water burns...

 hmmm...I don't remember if holy water hurts too much. They only used it on me once - when I was baptized, and I was a baby (looooooooooooooooooong time ago) so I can't remember the pain

Well, at least now I know I can swear at people in Argentine Spanish and get away with it...

Not that I can't do that already with Portuguese...

BTW, where are all the Argentinians in VJ?

Don't they migrate to the USA?
