Yang-Ja, my neighbors are going to try and help him stay here. My neighbors sister kept asking me "why can't he apply to work?" I told her look he came here on a fiancé visa, it's not transferable. He needs me in order to get his papers and well I'm not giving them to him. I recieved a call from the courts today I have to go down and sign a paper and it's done. I don't understand what is so hard for these people to understand.

It is not true to say you can not adjust status only through your K1 Sponosr.

It is true to say the other options are unusual/unlikely to succeed.

Nobody knows what his plan was, if it was to get to the US he did it. Not everybody seems to be that bothered about being in status.

Long term there is always the prospect of Immigration Reform.

They choose to be ignorant, that is all. Why are they so attached to him after only a month? Weird.

I have no idea. It really is weird. They took him to Easter dinner yesterday. My neighbor's sister was telling me I should have been aware that the wife is expected to OBEY the husband in their culture and blah blah blah. I told her that's not how he sold himself for almost 2 years....he supported me with school then when he got here it was completely different. So I can only imagine what he is selling them but it must be good.

Boiler I documented the reasons why something was wrong, the emails from his friends about coming fraud and that he only wanted his papers and was going to take off after two years was a great indicator of what his plans were. My major decision came when I asked him not once but three times not to change in front of my daughter and for him not to try and force his tongue down my throat in front of her. I tried to explain boundaries and how he crossed many of them. He told me she was going to have to get used to it. He also always took pix of her. I find that just weird. His personality completely changed and I'm assuming because once he touched US soil he felt there was no longer a reason to keep the act up. However, I was sick to my stomach for 2 days before I went and filed for the annulment. I was wondering if he wash changing in front of her when I wasn't home (my mom was here) I'm sorry when it comes to wondering if he is off and having to do with my child I would rather just not take the chance. The whole thing is really odd...

I should have been aware that the wife is expected to OBEY the husband in their culture and blah blah blah.

Love Honour and Obey is common through many cultures.

It is not that odd, you will find many similar experiences in the MENA forum.

There are limited, and as you say unlikely, instances in which he could adjust status. For example, he could try to get a private bill through congress..

As far as what his plan was. I can only speculate, however, if was to live a life out of status in the US, then perhaps he did "succeed." For now. Until he realizes the American dream requires a status.. Or his (lack of) status pops up on someone's computer screen.

Just take Darnell's advice, hand over anything and everything you have on him at the Infopass, ignore him and move on with your life.

Your job is to provide for your child and to be happy, not to obey anyone against your will. What you should, or shouldn't have been aware of is really irrelevant to both you and him at this point. You have done nothing illegal. Move on, and let karma work its way on him.

There are people I have met who I am pretty sure have no status and seem to live a very comfortable life, it just depends.

I can't see anyone wanting to live out of status and have to look over their shoulder every day. I'm going to go to the infopass then my job is done. They already told me at the courthouse I can apply for a restraining order and I will. It's done it's over. As long as my mistake wouldn't put my mom in jeopardy and I did what was required of my by reporting anything that went wrong. I can't force him on a plane. That is immigrations job.

Tens of millions manage, just one more.

OP: have you considered getting a restraining order against him?

Also, it was stated earlier, but don't be alone with him. Just don't see him in general, that would be good.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
