Hi, so when my fiancee entered the country, she gave the entire package to the immigration officer that she received after her K1 was approved. This included some extras like vaccination records CD and other things besides the brown evenlope. Tried to ask the officer the items back and said that they would be sent back in the mail.

At the moment trying to follow this up to see if it is true or how long it will take but can't seem to find the right number to call. I called the USCIS and they said to call CBP. CBP tells me they forward the items to USCIS and I should call them. Call USCIS a 2nd time and said I would have to fill out a G-884 to get original documents back but could not confirm if it will include what the officer took.

Anyone know if this is true? Not sure what the impact this will have not having some of those items in that package.

She handed over her entire immigrations file to the immigrations officer. The next time she will see it is at the AOS interview. Every new immigrant does exactly that.

She could keep it if she wanted to, but my guess is that she would be denied entry. Don't expect anything in the mail.

You should have copies of everything that you have submitted - the copies can be resubmitted as needed with her AOS application, rather than assuming that they can find anything.

The chest x-ray is yours to keep as a souvenir (and, in fact, my wife still uses hers as a medical reference 8 years later).

They took the chest x-rays too. I also found out the copy of the DS-3025 was given to them. The doctor did say she needed another shot that could be done either in China or America. Would this delay the AOS application?

It could if you don't get it straightened out. They are supposed to take the brown envelope but not the chest xray or the vaccination record. The original vaccination record is already inside. The loose one is your copy.

They won't mail it back to you. Her copy of the DS-3025 vaccination sheet and her x-ray should not have been handed over to them. You can try and ask the clinic where she had her K-1 medical if they could provide you with another copy of the DS-3025, but that is a long shot.

That's doubtful - they have what they need, which is the brown envelope. The x-ray is useful to the immigrant only in rare cases as a medical baseline (a record of her condition at the time it was taken).

The DS-3025 requires ONLY the first round of shots. What further shots she needs is between her and her doctor, and will not affect her immigration status. If she is required (RFE'd) to submit a new DS-3025, she may have to get a new one signed by a civil surgeon in the U.S., who may or may not require a new set of shots if there is no record of the first.

It may be worth your while to make an InfoPass appointment to discuss her Immigrations file with an Immigrations Officer - https://infopass.uscis.gov/

So an update. Had an infopass appointment, they were of no help, saying they don't have access to anything until the AOS is started. Manage to get a copy of her examination results CD, vaccination checklist and the yellow vaccination book from the hosptial, but they would not provide a new copy of the DS-3025. From the records, she got the first round of shots done.

Is this yellow book and the checklist enough to get a new DS-3025 done in the states?

the yellow book is the international shot record

and

any competent us civil surgeon is able to transpose that data in the yellow book ...

If she had all the required vaccinations marked off on the DS-3025 at the K-1 medical, then it will be in her file already with the rest of the papers she handed over at her POE. Send the AOS and add a note on your cover letter as you list the documents included, that she had all the required vaccinations and the DS-3025 can be found in her case file.

If you should get an RFE for vaccinations, then worry about finding a civil surgeon to do the vaccinations transcription. A civil surgeon in the US will not use the DS-3025 though, as that is a DoS form used by panel physicians abroad. In the US, when seeing a civil surgeon, you will get an I-693.
