Hello VJ families. My wife is the USC and we married and waiting on our I-130 approval. My question is that I the beneficiary have live in the Caribbean for up to 5 years as a student and I have return back to my home country after my studies for almost a year now. Now do I need a police certificate from the caribbean where I studied and my home country or just my home country alone? And after the I-130 is approved, do I need to send my police certificate to my wife for the NVC ???

"The Caribbean" is not a country. Provide a police certificate from each country in which you lived for more than six months after reaching age 16. If you are no longer living in the country or countries you attended school outside Nigeria, you can obtain those police certificates now. No need to wait. Wait at least five months after filing or until I-130 is approved to obtain your home country police certificate. All/any original police certificates should be in the petitioner's hands to send to NVC.

Consular officers do not care about expiration dates on police certificates. They care about issue dates.

Can you elaborate? I have a question too regarding this matter. My wife got her police certificate in Feb of 2014 and her interview date is on May 15th 2014; however, by that date the police certificate will have expired. Should we get a new one or will she be fine with the then expired one?

I'll add this. The police certificate should be issued no more than six months before the interview. Any expiration date placed on it is irrelevant to a Consular officer. I can't say it more directly than that.
