I don't know if this is the right forum, but anyway...

After bugging Rio's consulate ever since I got the notice that NVC recieved our petition, today I finally got an answer to my emails (I think they got tired of me... :hehe: )

Dear Sir or Madam:

The petition was already here and the instructions were sent to your fiancée address in Brasilia. Yes, she can pay the fee in any Citibank where this service is available.

Regards,

IV Unit

Funny thing, though, they think I'm the petitioner

Of course, I won't wait to get the actual packet 3 in the mail. I'll send it tomorrow

Thanks to everyone that helped us so far (F)

I think it's funny they call you the petitioner because they always call Eliton a "she".....hahaha.

Yamila,

the way each consulate deals with packets is different. Try asking on the regional forum if people from Argentina can do the same. Be aware, though, to send packet 3 before getting it from them, you'll have to make sure the consulate got your petition into their computers and the actual hard copy of the files. I found it out by email.

Good luck!

Who knows...maybe we'll go to the US on the same flight :D

Meredith,

I was reading the email they sent me again and, get this:

Dear Sir or Madam:

The petition was already here and the instructions were sent to your fiancée address in Brasilia. Yes, she can pay the fee in any Citibank where this service is available.

Does that mean they accept petitions from gay couples? B)

I know it is just a lousy heading, but if I were a lawyer, I'd give them some headache... ;)

We'll stay in SP for a few days and then fly to Rio for the interview and wait 2 days for the visa. If we get our interviews at the same week we can plan some kind of meeting - do you know what "casquinha de siri" is? If you like shellfish, you'll love it!
