Hello All,

I have looked at the Registrar General Department (RGD) website in trying to see how to apply for the No-impediment certificate online, doesn't seem possible.

I cant seem to find the form either or is this the same as The Notice for Banns?

In the price list, it says however that the cost for the No-impediment is J$7,500, regular service and additional $1,000 or $2,500 for express for 7 day service or three days....or at least this is my interpretation.

Here is my question

In applying for the K1 and K2 visas will I need to apply for No impediments for my daughters? My reason for this is is due to the law and the age of consent being 16, a child attaining age 16 can get married with the permission or parent or legal guardian etc....

So do i need to prove that they have never been married seeing that my fiancee can apply for my unmarried children under age 21??

Anyone ever faced with this before??

Boy these costs are really adding up.

Thanks..well as no-one was answering I sent an email to the embassy here so hopefully I will get a response by next Friday.

Jamaican laws are somewhat lacking and i want to be sure... Seeing that 16 year old can be charged criminally, and therefore require a police record, but can vote but with consent..

Will report back after i receive the email.

Sorry. typo...I meant a 16 year old can marry with consent of parent/guardian, which was why I wondered if it meant that I would then need to prove that my children are unmarried, seeing that my fiancee could only file for my unmarried children under 21 years..

Thanks again Pinkrlion..You are def right on the money..The embassy replied that No Impediment is only required for 1

I am trying to apply for a no impediment certificate from jamaica and I see online the fee prices as well but I am unsure of where to apply for the certificate. I only see the birth, marriage and death ones available to apply for online. How did you go about getting yours? I also emailed the address at the bottom of the page, and I have not received an email back so I am hoping you can help..
