how do you know which processing center your application goes to?

Okay, this may seem like a stupid question…I should finally be able to mail out my application at the beginning of next week (I had to wait for documents that have yet to arrive from my fiancé that should hopefully be here in the next day or two) but I was wondering, after it goes to the Texas Lockbox, how do they determine which processing center it goes to? Is it based on where you live? Or just random? I'm just hoping that the process goes quickly. Anyone know?

You file it with one central address, the Texax Lock Box, and let them figure it out.

You have nothing to say as to where it goes. If you send it to a center they will send it back and tell you to refile with the Texas Lock Box.

It seems to depend upon each service center's workload as to where your case ends up. It doesn't depend upon where you live at all

I was reading that it depends on where you live, and I'm noticing that Vermont is slow as….yeah…slow. I'm from Pennsylvania, and obviously (like everyone else here) I want this process to go quickly. It's bad enough the mail from the UK ate the letters that I was to get and my fiancé had to rewrite and mail them out again with more expensive postage (seriously, 3 weeks and the letter is STILL saying it's in Kennedy NY). I have everything ready to go, I just need one last document. I hate waiting…if the mail hadn't ate the letters, we could almost have our NOA2 by now…maybe. Dear god I hope this process goes quickly (thankfully I'm flying out to the UK again in 3 weeks. After this, I won't have any vacation time until he gets here-hopefully before the end of the year)

I thought each service center had a jurisdiction of states that were sent there. Before I sent my I129f, I googled which service center Indiana was sent to and stumbled across a website that said CSC. I was sent to CSC. Not sure if this holds true or not, but it was right for me.

In the link, replace Vermont with Texas Service Center (Vermont no longer processes I-129F petitions, TSC is processing them now).

Generally, the state you live in determines which service center you are processed at.

OP, you can tell where you application goes based on the prefix of your case number:

SRC: Texas

WAC: California

EAC: Vermont

SRC: Texas

WAC: California

EAC: Vermont

As I stated in my previous post, replace Vermont with Texas. The jurisdictions are basically still the same.

I have noticed that east coast states tend to go to TSC and west coast states tend to go to CSC.

Well, for one, not all Texas petitions from November are still waiting to be approved. I got approved, in Texas, in 77 days. Take a look at the threads from the monthly filers to get a feel for how many people are still waiting. Second, some of us have been without seeing their other-halves in over a year. For me, it's been since July. We do what's necessary, and we wait however long we have to wait because we believe it's worth waiting for. You're not alone.

California Service Center might be the fastest but when my fiancé filed I-129F back in August 2013, CSC also infamous for slowly sent approved petitions to NVC. Mine went to TSC, I got approved in 38 days for I -129F, and 2 weeks later I had my case number from NVC whereas at same time one of members here that hers was sent to CSC got her case number 2 months after approval even though her I-129F was approved pretty quick.
