Green card never showed up?

Hey everyone,

I was given a tracking number for my green card - 2 day priority mail on April 14th, it was supposed to be delivered yesterday and I never received it, nor did I receive it today. It says it departed the sort facility in Detroit (where I live), yesterday and never came to my house??? We received all the other mail but didn't receive my green card. Im worried it's somehow lost? And I need to travel to my home country (Canada) this coming Wednesday...Not sure whats going on?

Use your AP to travel. That's what it's for.

They confiscated it at my AOS interview, or I wouldn't be writing this right now. Im unable to travel until I receive my green card, which is now evidently lost.

Did they give you an I-551 stamp in your passport at the interview? I believe this functions as a temp GC to allow you to return to the US.

It may not be lost. Take the tracking number to the Post office and they should be able to help you find it. Leaveing a sorting facility does not mean it arrived at the local postoffice in time for delivery. Go to your local post office and they can check on it.

Thanks for the help, I'll try that tommorow..They didn't give me anything and told me not to internationally travel until I receive it. I didn't really see this as an issue I didn't have any pressing issues at the time, but now we have a family member who died and the next availavle info pass appointment is in 2 weeks to get an emergency AP. Im worried they'll have to re order me a new one and it'll take another month. Which I cant afford, I have university graduation, a baby shower and a funeral to attend this month.

Hi sorry about your G/C if you have no joy at the post office then first report it then see if you can get an infopass appointment any earlier & explain whats happened then ask if you can have the I-551 stamp put in your passport.

November 27th Received my naturalization certificate back
