Wow, its like walking down memory lane with all these names....

Hello Pauline!

ANDY!!!! Blooming heck, your a sight for sore eyes - how the devil are you?

Pauline

Ah, well it's a long time since I was an active participant here, which is saddening really since I regarded the health and wellbeing of VJ and the family of members here as a matter of greatest personal importance for a long time! Still, the fracas with Matt (Udall) coincided with a point in time where I was heavily involved in prosecuting an ethics case, so aside from my little trip back to slap him with a reasoned argument as to why his witch hunt was fallacious, I had other too many other fish to fry to give the forum the attention I wished to.

Life is busy, busy.... but I'm tossing around the notion of filing for Citizenship, even though (if you recall from the old days) my own green card never did appear! Vermont has many admirers amongst the K-1 crowd, but not amongst those of us who have fallen into the grasp of it's blundering clerical errors!

How are you doing? It's so easy to find immigration cases in difficulty that it's wonderful to come across ones that have worked out!!!

Yes, I so remember the days when Matt had it 'in' for VJ  . Glad to hear thing have worked well for you and great news that you have reached the grand old stage of even thinking of applying for Citizenship  .

Yes it worked out for us in the end, but not the way we wanted to. It was a long hard struggle and when we could go no futher without falling down, we came to UK, where we were meant to be I think! If we had not of done so, Wyatt would, I truly believe, not be with us today - long and short of it is he is now recovering from heart surgery and that was very touch and go!

We are very happy over here in UK, although Wyatt does miss his home, of course! And have to admit that there is parts of the America life that I miss too - but all in all, this was the way we should have come in the first place!! Its sooooooooooooo easy to come this way! In fact, we have our home office appointment looming in June for Wyatt's permanent residency and then in a year's time he can apply for and have joint citizenship, wish I could have done that!

I still peek into VJ from time to time - I do believe it is very addictive and I notice lots of other old timers peek back in from time to time  and its great to see them!

Wonder if there is a place for 'old timer's' to hand our hats in now and then? <winks>

take care, and great to see you! - I will always remember how you set me straight and helped me such a lot!! THANKS!!

I did not post much then but the my most active posting was during the episode of an attempt by one lawyer to close down visajourney.

Andy I recall that Andy posted a very well-written response to the trouble maker. Gosh! I can't recall his name right at this moment.

Well don't tell anyone I told you, but it was Matthew Udall. He'd been responsible for what appeared to be a one-man crusade against such resources as VJ for what he claimed was the unlicensed practice of law. The only case that ever got taken up was against the operator of a site based in KY, but was dropped by the bar association because the complaint was determined to be unfounded for pretty much the same reasons I gave in my little contribution to the debate before Matt was exorcised from the site.

It was that prolonged episode that drove many of the early VJers away, though thankfully it didn't quite close us down!

There's a certain irony in struggling so long and hard against the US immigration system only to find yourself in the end having to pursue the rather less problematic UK version! Sad that you had to make that choice rather than simply opted for it as a the best solution - but I'm happy to hear that Wyatt is recovering, let alone that he's up for PR so soon! Excellent news.

It certainly is so much easier to import a foreigner into the UK than the US, and life there has many good things to offer. I'm rather settled and happy here though - although we're considering possibilities for the future! I'd miss a lot of things about life in the US if I moved back - but I suspect a good cup of tea and a plate of cheese-crusted crumpets and a pot noodle would fix that mighty quick!

It's great to hear from you and know that after the ups and downs, things have worked out.

Best wishes to you both!
