My wife and I just completed our AOS interview this morning at the Los Angele Service Center and she was approved on the spot.

For those of you with interviews coming up in Los Angeles, please read on for details......

Our interview was for 935am at the Federal Building at 300 N. Los Angeles Street. We arrived about 20 minutes earlier and went thru security at the front entrance and proceeded up to the 8th floor. We checked in and had a seat. There were probably 50 or so people already waiting, but they were being called into the interviews very quickly.

Our name was called at about 945am and we meet the interviewing officer at the entrance to the interview offices. She was very pleasant, thus immediately putting my wife and I at ease. She asked for our Identification and proof of relationship evidence. We brought a translator friend just in case, whom was also asked for ID. She took the ID's and evidence and made copies and return them to us. We then followed her thru the door and into the back offices for the interview. We entered her office and were immediately sworn. "Do you pormise to tell the truth?" and we asnwered "Yes." and that was that.

She asked me how we met and for my employer letter. She looked thru our photo album and asked a few questions about where the photos were taken, and about my children from a previous marriage. She commented about how much she loved Thai food (my wife is from Thailand).

Although we had a translator, she directed most all the questions at me. She did ask my wife the questions about ever having been in jail, or a terrorist, etc.....

the interviewer said she got a good feeling about us, and that we looked very happy together. She then congratulated us on my wife's approval for conditional residence. She then gave us the information about conditional residence and advised us of the timeframe when we must apply for permanent residence. She said we should receive the conditional GC within 4 to 6 weeks.

By the way, if you are approved at the interview, Los Angeles will NOT stamp the passport for AP. They even give you a letter explaining that you must make an infopass appointment in order to request AP.

I am so glad we get a break for 2 years!!!!

Good Luck to everyone here!!!

That's great.

Unfortunately for my wife, she is still in waiting game hell 120 days after our AOS interview. We have an INFOPASS appointment today to try and find out what the heck is taking so long. We have done everything by the book and still do not even have a work permit which we filed for at the same time as the AOS. It's no wonder so many people ener this country illegally when they make it so hard for the honest people to get a green card. She is a nurse, something that there is a shortage of here and she is eager to get back to work after a year of being out of a job since she left Hong Kong. I hope we can get some answers today
