Cebu airlines is not only cheaper if you just use carry on but alot more dependable than PAL cuz the last time i used PAL i was stuck in kalibo for 18 hrs waiting for a flight out cuz of some rain while cebu was flying all day really sucked on our honeymoon

Good advice on the exchange rate.

AIr Cebu is a bit more money than PAL but worth every cent. Very nice airline whereas PAL is atrocious.

If you have baggage, pay for it online when you get your ticket. Cheaper than paying for it at the ticket counter.

Just an fyi I bought a ticket for my fiancée to travel back from manila to leyte and by choosing to pay in peso's it was a better price. Cebu Air gives 41 peso / $1. while your bank gets a better exchange rate they got 45 peso / $1.

I don't understand the logic here.

Paying in USD and letting your card/bank convert on their schedule is the better deal, as you've illustrated here.

CebuPacific is a great regional airline - the best in PI as far as I'm concerned. Zest has sometimes been cheaper for some routes, but I've read many people have poor experience with Zest keeping to their schedule.

The first time I bought a ticket I opted to pay the dollar amount Cebu Air had. This time I opted to pay the peso amount and let my bank make the exchange so I saved a few bucks.

yeah, got it, had a brain fart this afternoon - always pay in local currency and let your bank/card convert on their schedule of exchange rates

Both times I visited I flew PAL from Manila to Tacloban and it seems we do about 6 laps around ninoy's airport before taking off... I think I'll use Cebu Air is next time.
