my man got a job that he can work at until Feb 6th(when his temp EAD runs out). How long will it take for him to get his permanent EAD once we file his AOS paperwork?

It is such a good job & it stinks that he can't keep it for a while

thanks for your help guys

Expect 90 to 100 days.

that is what I thought

if he has a ss# can he work at all or would that be illegal once the EAD expires? will he have to stop working for those 100 days then ask if he can come back once the EAD is approved?

dumb questions-I know  I just want to make sure we do everything the right way

My understanding is he has to have the EAD to continue work. Having an SSN on its own does not give you authorization to work.

I had to give up my job when my temp ead ran out at the beginning of Dec.........It was a good job also, they are giving me another 2 weeks to keep it open for me. Hopefully they will keep his job open for him. So yes we have to wait until we get our Ead to carry on working, and yes you are right it stinks
