Hello all

I just wanted to know if anyone has ever had an immigration officer visit their home. I did and my case has not been decided since last August. To make a long story short. I filed for a Green card last January. Made a mistake then hired a lawyer and re-filed. The second process moved very fast and within 2 months I had my interview. The interview went great. No problems at all. At the very end the IO said the only thing I need to do is wait for your first file to arrive here and I have already requested it to arrive. They even knew exactly where it was. After 6 months in February, nothing. My lawyer filed an inquiry into my case and USCIS was confused. They stated that they though my case was approved and my file from the 2nd time was already approved. They stated "we will make my case a priority". One month later nothing. I decided to contact an Ombudsman and they said they could look into it since my lawyer was not making any progress. One week later the surprise visit from USCIS at home. Once again, no problems. Everyone was home, myself, husband, kids including our baby who was born in January and not even on any of the paperwork because my case is a very long case. They appeared satisfied, left after 5 minutes and said expect a decision "very soon". I was relieved. Well very soon for me has passed and now I am at the end of my patience. USCIS approves a case for my friend in 8 days. My case is 8 months and still going like the energizer bunny with no end in sight. My question is, has anyone ever had a similar case and is it true that USCIS must finally make a decision after a home visit by 6 months? Thank you

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Suggest you engage the human at yer congressman's office

that

handles constituent inquiries

and

fills the role of 'Immigration Liason Staffer' (ILS) .

Once engaged (you've a form to sign) the ILS human can make inquiries with where ever the casefile is and get other results.

IMO, the A-File not being there when the interview was done, tells me there was some huge procedural error. The ILS Human can look into that, as well.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
