Hi everyone-- i'm really new to all of this, and hoping someone will know the answer to this. I have dual citizenship between the US and Mexico. My husband and I just got married in Mexico City (I was living there for the past 8 months) and I moved back to the US for a job. We are now going through visa process, and I wondered if it is possible for me to do DCF since I have dual citizenship? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to make this process as short as sweet as possible, and if the DCF is a possibility, I would love to know before filing the I-130!

Thank you!

Thanks for your response. So there is no option of doing DCF for me even though I have dual citizenship? If I moved back to Mexico is the only option to speed up the process?

Hi,

You would have to be living in Mexico for 6 months before you could file for DCF. So add the 6 months waiting time plus the time DCF takes

and I don't know it would be worth it.

You also have to think about your job, and if you left would you have anyone that would do your I-864 if you went back to Mexico.

Dual citizenship has no effect on eligibility for DCF.
