I already mentioned the conclusions that science predicted not long ago, not only were they wrong they were unbelievably wrong in that Obesity is now a bigger health problem.... though it was starvation that was predicted (by science).

If you think that scientific predictions are useless, that's your problem. We don't need predictions to see that there are real sustainability concerns with the beef industry and they will continue, with your acknowledgment or not.

Cows were always meant to be vegetarians not omnivores. More high quality, small herds producing good meat. Not cheap, but at least worth eating.

Exactly, cows should wander around grazing, that's what they are designed to do. Grass and hay in winter produces the best quality meat.

Not correct. Some cynical marketing in food production? I am sure there is but, you know you can taste the difference and buy accordingly. Try it, expensive but better to have a great steak once in a while than a crappy steak every day.

Beef is going up largely do to feed costs, because ethanol.

I just saw this story on the evening news. They said it was due to a shortage in cattle stocks. They said chicken has also gone up in price.

I had grass fed beef from a friend who raised that cattle on his own grass. Trust me, no feedlot there. And you can taste it. If you can't, just eat chicken.

Just a suggestion, but you could try to imagine that both things are perfectly possible at one and the same time. You might find this hard to believe, but in the US there are some children who do not get enough to eat and there are some children who are obese. The fact that there is one does not automatically mean that there can't be the other, do you see?

BUt the question was not if people somewhere in the world might be hungry in 1985, the prediction was that much of the world would be starving as we divided up what little food was produced.

Not only where they wrong, they could not have been more wrong.

As they have been on so many predictions.

Air quality is another one.

I only mention it because some insist that we better believe the latest prediction because it too has the blessing of science.
