Me nd my fiance are getting married tomorrow. Hed from Jamaica.. so how do I begin the whole process of applying him for citizenship so he can work nd stay in the country . Cost nd any other information would be helpful.. thanks

Is he just visiting you on a tourist visa and you're getting married? And he'll stay in the country? Or will he go back to Jamaica?

Nov 16, 2013 - noa 1 received

feb 20, 2014 - noa 2 approved

march 5, 2014 - case number assigned at NVC

march 14, 2014 - case received by local embassy

april 4, 2014 - interview

may 1, 2014 - visa in hand

june 13, 2014 - POE: Boston

AOS

Aug 1, 2014 - AOS/EAD/AP package delivered to Chicago Lockbox

Aug 6, 2014 - NOA1

Aug 19, 2014 - Biometrics appointment for AOS & EAD

Sept 29, 2014 - EAD/AP combo card received in mail.

Mid-Nov - Potential Waiver of Interview letter received

End of May 2015 - renewed my EAD/AP, got the NOA1 and another letter stating that I don't need to do biometrics appt.

June 11, 2015 - welcome to America letter! (no interview...no service request..)

June 16, 2015 - green card in hand

He is already in the US nd his work visa has expired

He is already in the US nd his work visa has expired

If you are marrying him tomorrow and he did not enter on a K1 fiancé visa then once you are married you will not be eligible to apply for the K1 fiancé visa.

Once you are married he will have to leave the United States to his home country. You will need to apply for a CR-1 marriage visa.

06-03-2022: Interview scheduled (online notice).

If he is in the US, then you can do a concurrent I-130/I-485 adjustment of status, outlined here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide2

It is NOT citizenship, he is not yet eligible for that and won't be for years, and it is important that you understand that because if he claims to be a citizen when he is not, then he will be banned from the US for life.

The above is an application for permanent residence.

It costs $1490 + a medical, which is around $200, plus incidentals.

Once you are married he will have to leave the United States to his home country. You will need to apply for a CR-1 marriage visa.

What's the point in getting married and then separating?

They should marry and live as a married couple, then file for AOS.
