You h8ters can give up your poisonous ways at any given moment.

What haters are you referring to? You were the one who brought up his political background. If you can't take the heat...

A Klansman and a a former GOP candidate.... It might be interesting to learn of his religious affiliation...

Nah, what's the fun in that? If he's not from Islam, you can't possibly blame the religion. He'll just be labeled another nut case.

Any sort of credible proof of that would be welcome. I'll wait (... probably forever).

And the plot thickens....

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/04/14/1-reportedly-dead-1-injured-in-shootings-at-jewish-centers/

The man who allegedly killed three people when he opened fire outside a Jewish community center and nearby retirement community in a Kansas City suburb Sunday is reportedly a 73-year-old Missouri man with a history of racist and anti-Semitic activity.

A Johnson County (Kan.) jail official told the Associated Press that authorities had identified the suspect in the shooting in Overland Park as Frazier Glenn Cross, aka Frazier Glenn Miller.

The Kansas City Star reported that Miller was booked into the Johnson County jail on suspicion of premeditated first-degree murder Sunday evening, but had not been formally charged. The paper reported that public records showed that Cross is a resident of Aurora, Mo., a small town southwest of Springfield.

A dispatcher with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department told the Star Sunday that local authorities were working with Johnson County authorities and the FBI. A woman who answered the phone at a number listed for Frazier Glenn Miller told the paper she did not know where he was and then started to cry.

The Southern Poverty Law Center reported on its website that it spoke to Miller's wife, Marge, by phone Sunday and she said police told her that her husband had been arrested in Sunday's attacks.

According to the law center, Miller has been involved in the white supremacist movement for most of his life. He founded the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and was its "grand dragon" in the 1980s before the center sued him for operating an illegal paramilitary organization and using intimidation tactics against blacks. He later founded another white supremacist group, the White Patriot Party.

Miller, an Army veteran and retired truck driver, was the subject of a nationwide manhunt in 1987 after he violated the terms of his bond while appealing a North Carolina conviction for operating a paramilitary camp. The search ended after federal agents found Miller and three other men in an Ozark mobile home, which was filled with hand grenades, automatic weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Miller tried running for U.S. House in 2006 and the U.S. Senate in 2010.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana_Republican_Party

Unlike the first Ku Klux Klan that rose in the South during the Reconstruction era to terrorize newly freed slaves and their white Republican allies, this new Klan that started in Georgia in 1915 was highly nativist organization that hid its racism in the cloak of family values and patriotism. Staunchly anti-immigrant, anti-Catholic, antisemitic, and of course prejudiced against African Americans, the new Klan spread into Indiana in the 1920s under the Grand Dragon D.C. Stephenson.[8] The second KKK was almost exclusively Republican in Midwestern states like Indiana as well as northern and western states like Maine and Colorado, although the KKK remained exclusively Democratic in the South. Under Stephenson's leadership, the Klan flourished in Indiana and took over both the Governor's Office and much Republican Party in the General Assembly.[9] With over two-hundred and fifty thousand white males (approximately forty-percent of Indiana's population) paying their Klan dues in Indiana, Stephenson amassed a fortune estimated from two to five million dollars.[10] More than half of the Indiana legislature elected in 1924 were KKK members, although the Klan legislature passed few anti-black, anti-Jewish or anti-Catholic laws.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku_Klux_Klan

The members of the first Klan in the South were exclusively Democrats. The second Klan expanded with new chapters in the Midwest and West, where for a time, its members were courted by both Republicans and Democrats. The KKK state organizations endorsed candidates from either party that supported its goals; Prohibition in particular helped the Klan and some Republicans to make common cause in the Midwest.

Forever isn't that long.

And where's the proof that " the Klansmen have been welcomed and absorbed into the Republican party about a half a century ago. "? Certainly not in the links you provided.

Keep trying. It might actually take you ... forever.

You do know that wikipedia can be edited by anyone.

Should I use or cite Wikipedia? Probably not.

Articles in Wikipedia may be well written and insightful, but they are not embedded in the world of scholarly discourse. Without knowing who wrote the article, it is more difficult to judge whether the author's writing is worthy of consideration, or to critique his or her motivations or qualifications. Without a known author, Wikipedia articles cannot be considered authoritative.

So, are you saying that the KKK voted for Barack Obama? That they are for same sex marriage? Voting rights for all citizens? These things happened in the Democratic Party.

Yeah, but the other links I saw were personal pieces. These folks here don't want to believe anything that doesn't suit their narrative.

I am trying to teach the wife not to go directly to wikipedia and stop there. It is just a pet peeve of mine. I will admit, I get lazy myself some times, and just quote general knowledge from there on occasion.

I agree with that. I have seen some egregious quotes from Wikipedia. If you can't find a source somewhere else, chances are there is something fishy in the premise.

Wikipedia is a good quick source for non-referential information, but other than that I would check every source it mentions.

I usually try to look around to find credible sources. It's hard because there are so many biased material out there.

And Republicans were more likely to support the 1964 Civil Rights act than Democrats. And Democrat icon Robert Byrd was an "Exalted Cyclops" in the KKK. Where does that put your jihad?

I usually try to look around to find credible sources.

But you didn't.
