Suddenly "go back to Africa" isn't a racial comment? Okay then!

Thank you!!

Once someone says, "go back to Africa", in my opinion they've instantly earned the racist label.

The general attitude towards minorities here is less than favorable. There are quite a few people that make it about race in threads that myself or any other minority might not even be in at the time. I usually have to take it on both fronts, race and religion. It's hard to tell the difference sometimes because people tend to react to us differently based on our race. So even if someone is being funny, if you don't know them, you won't know that.

I was the same way my first month in here, I've had time to learn who's genuine and who's not. Janelle will come around in time. Be patient with her.

Don't worry, apparently it had nothing to do with race. I made it about race.

Gonna strain something from rolling my eyes so hard.

Thank you!!

It was even admitted that people usually say it because the person is black.

But no.

Nothing racial involved there.

Nope!

There are white folk in Africa, too. And Arab folk. And Asian folk. For you to think that Africa is populated solely by black people - now that is offensive!

Well, once I hear a white person be told to go back to Africa, I will change my world view.

I opened a door. You'd have to walk through it yourself. Or do you expect everything to be handed to you?

Uh, yeah. I'm a minority duh.

If you can arrange a meeting with Charlie Theron(who's from South Africa), I'll tell her, after I get her autograph and picture first. A man's got to know his priorities!

Edit: If you post a picture with your strained eyeballs, that would be awesome.

My bad. Sorry bro.

Didn't you hear? Apparently, we can just waltz right into any Ivy league school and get any job we want with zero qualifications. According to some here, I can be a CEO without any experience. I'm applying for an eight figure job right now. All I have to do is say African American on the form and it's smooth sailing from there.

That appears to be the word on the street. In some odd places in America, at least.

I'll start telling black people to go back to Africa and see how well that goes for me.

It isn't when you are talking about Politics and unhappiness with the U.S.

It depends on the conversation.

We can tell Charlize Theron to go back to Africa. She is from South Africa. So what is your point?

Please tell me where I can get one of the CEO jobs? Better yet, I am going to kill my Memphis degrees and apply to all these IVY League colleges. Dang it! If I only knew this a long time ago I could have been applied. What was I thinking?

Since when has Sri Lanka been in Africa?

Must have taken a wrong turning.

PS Very good health care.

Sri Lanka, officially the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, is an island country in the northern Indian Ocean off the southern coast of the Indian subcontinent in South Asia.

So does Cuba, I hear.

There are an awful lot of criminal in jail for the same type of behaviour, and some rich white kids who were not jailed because, well their parents got them off. Lots of high moral character in the good 'ol US

Notwithstanding those criminals in jail and the rich white brats who stand behind the well-connected protection of their parents, there is a lot of high moral character in the US.

And just because there are criminals in jail and some rich white brats protected by well-connected parents, doesn't mean that it's right and that other's should be given a free pass.

This girl's already gotten a big break ... if she's not deported, then so be it; if she is, it's within the legal framework and nothing for me to worry about. Perhaps it'll teach her to be responsible for her action, something her parents have not been very successful at obviously.

And from my viewpoint, it really has nothing to do with her being an illegal immigrant, a girl, a Mexican, whatever her sexual preference may be ... she knowingly endangered the lives of others for her own self gain, even when there were a host of other viable options available to her. Does it happen a lot, sure all the time. Doesn't make it right., no. It just so happens that under her circumstances she may be deportable. I don't think it would be a bad idea to deport many of those in our prisons - except that if they are USCs, then there's likely no place to deport them to.

Indian Ocean extends from the southern tip of Africa to Australia. quite a bit south of the southern tip of India. I think you may be confused with the Bay of Bengal.
