Citizens of your own Country you are stuck with.

Drug Dealing Citizens of another country, why would you not boot them out?

Before Colorado legalized weed, this is understandable, but now, it is not. We have legal drug dealers in the U.S. now my friend.

There you go changing my thread again. This is not about black people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are just mad because you have yet to prove this special treatment mess.

Please show me the proof that I, a black woman, am receiving some government handouts. You can't because I don't and I do not get any kind of special treatment. Now, stop posting about black people in here again. Shish! You are obsessed with black people.

Actually I was replying to Marvin who changed your thread..Once again it ain't me :)

Your understanding of the legality of weed in Colorado is superficial and sensational - you should base your information on actual fact and not headlines and other propaganda.

It is legal for adults aged 21 and over to cultivate up to six marijuana plants for recreational use and to be in possession of up to one ounce for recreational use. It is ILLEGAL for someone under the age of 21 to possess, consume or distribute marijuana for recreational purposes.

Additionally, in Colorado she would have needed a state license to distribute marijuana and, as she is under the age of 21, she would not be eligible for said license.

The US has had legal drug dealers for years … a registered pharmacist is a legalized drug dealer, as are wholesale distributors, reverse distributors, manufacturers and compounding pharmacists.

She is a hard worker in my book. :)

The ladies working the street corner nearby work hard for a living. Bernie Madoff worked hard at pilfering from people. Mohammad Atef and his croonies work hard for their desired outcome as well. All sorts of criminals work very diligently at their activities.

I would think that working hard at honest (i.e., legal) work is a better measure of respectability.

Her home is not Mexico. When you leave a place at 5 years old, you are not being sent back to your 'home' you are being sent to a country you do not know at all. She broke the law, it was stupid, and of course she should be punished as any teen who does the same type of crime should be but deporting her is a harsh penalty for a teenager. It is possible that she has extended family in Mexico who might welcome her, but if not if she is deported she would be destitute. Personally I think that's pretty cruel and unusual as penalties for selling hash brownies go. I am certainly not excusing her behaviour, by any manner of means but the punishment should really fit the crime, This doesn't.

Her legal residence is Mexico.

She was distributing a controlled drug without a license, to other juveniles. I'd be willing to bet that she had no control over the quality/safety of the marijuana which she was illegally distributing, which puts those consumers at considerable risk. Her activity was planned, pernicious and reckless. Her ignorance of why this is completely wrong is not an excuse, indeed, it is troubling. Not the kind of high moral character we'd like to see in this country. The Court let her off easy with probation and essentially time served. If she violated the terms of her presence in the US, then she should be deported. That's the law. It fits.

Actually, I wasn't talking about race. I was talking about how the people here with this hang them high attitude don't hang around in the threads when murders are mentioned. Guess Obama's aunt overstaying on a visa and this teenager selling brownies is much more important.

BTW, you made it about race way before I did;

I am confused? Are you saying there are no black plumbers named Joe ? Are you saying than you can classify a plumber named Joe as your average white citizen? Are you saying all white people thin

Okay, I forgive you.

Okay, I forgive you.

And what is Gumbernment?

That is a colloquialism for Government., often used by those with poor education. Sometimes associated with the radical anti-Govt movement or slang fro Urban environments.

I know people who are currently working to establish a legal, high-end edibles company in Washington State. It is not easy and they have a LOT of hoops to jump through, but they want to be legal and produce a luxury-quality good that is consistent and safe. That is fine by me; I support legalisation of recreational cannabis. But as novedsac says above, this girl had no way of ensuring the quality of her product, was not licensed and was SELLING ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. I really struggle to find how anyone here can find her actions acceptable.

When you are in another country on any status other than as a citizen, you are always subject to having that status revoked. I recall a run-in with a cranky immigration officer on a Eurostar train once, who didn't like that my US passport was peeling a little at one corner. He was picking at it and I asked him to stop a little snappishly. He then threatened to prevent me from entering Britain and sending me back to France. It was terrifying -- my life, husband, home and job were in Britain. He reminded me that he did not need to let me in, even though I had lived in the country for almost a decade at that point and had indefinite leave to remain. I had done nothing wrong except have a slightly mutilated passport and be a little rude to an immigration officer. But he was in his rights to deny me. This girl committed a felony. She should be kicked out. Perhaps she would do better in rehabilitation here, but it's moot. She's an adult, and adults need to be responsible for their actions.

If her family entered this country illegally, then deport them, too. That way we don't create unnecessary hardship by breaking up the family unit. Compassionate enough for you?

Let me get this straight for you. I would see her deported for being here illegally, first and foremost.

I would see her deported because she represents the abrogation by successive administrations, both Democrat and Republican, to enforce the immigration laws on the books.

I would see her deported because she represents the fruits of Washington lobbyists, perverting the role of government, angling to subvert the immigration process in order to further their own ends.

I would see her deported because she represents the worst of business, furthering the supply of cheap labour, lining the pockets of businessmen willing to break the law by employing cheap illegal immigrant labour, under poor working conditions, driving down wages and assuaging the American consumer with artificially low prices.

I would see her deported because she represents the denial of opportunity to an American citizen, or a legal immigrant. The denial of opportunity when it comes to college, or workplace training. The denial of opportunity in the workplace. She represents an easy way out for the system, which doesn't have to try to bring the other person around to the idea that work will see them get ahead in life.

I would see her deported because her family represents one in countless thousands who, instead of striving to improve their country of citizenship, by working hard and building the culture of opportunity there, chose to abandon their homeland and seek to improve their own lot, in a country where the fight to build a culture of opportunity has already been fought for them by others.

I would see her deported because she broke the law, full well knowing that she has no legal right to be in this country.

I would see her deported because that is the law in this country.

I know that's why most of the people who get overly irate about these issues, that's exactly why, you do not see the person you see what you believe that person represents. She doesn't represent anyone but herself. A silly, foolish teenager who made a bad decision. She may or may not be deported as a result of it. I personally would prefer it if she was not and had a chance to turn her life around in the country she calls her home. I expect she will not be deported but we will see.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

We can probably agree that what should happen and what will happen often seem disconnected.

There are an awful lot of criminal in jail for the same type of behaviour, and some rich white kids who were not jailed because, well their parents got them off. Lots of high moral character in the good 'ol US
