What an idiot. If you're lucky enough to have the protection of DACA, you should do everything in your power to show you have the best character and the utmost respect for the law. So she's being punished for selfish teenage behaviour -- GOOD. She broke the law and she's now deportable. Actions have consequences. I am firmly in the bleeding heart librul camp but I also am a great believer in the rule of law. She wanted a special prom dress, but instead of getting a part-time job (which she could, because of DACA) she sold pot brownies to kids. Fantastic. I struggle to see how anyone can support her actions.

I could be wrong, but I believe Janelle is pointing out that when there are stories of regular Americans that commit unspeakable crimes, the outrage here seems to be selective, to say the least. The same folks that are yelling deportation and criminal are strangely absent when it's just some joe the plumber type who rapes and murders someone.

Actually Lost, I didn't report you. I reported my stalker, you just made the smart decision to repost what he did and got caught in the crossfire. I think both parties have sole out to the Big money special interest groups and corporations and stay in power by flogging the unwashed masses. On the dem side it is minorities with govt subsidies and special treatment, and the Pubs do it by flogging Abortion, Prayer in School, put gun nest on the border etc

I was eating supper with a friend who is dead on in the demographics the pubs plays to. He gets the ####### crazy E-mails from some group. 2 weeks ago it was Obama is going to purposely crash the dollar this summer.

Tonight he started telling us that Obama was going to sign a law giving himself another term. I started trying to explain to him about the 22nd amendment..He just got a blank stare. I just said never mind. Then he started rambling about some freaking microchip. This guy is not a bad guy, he is not a rabid militia type,. he is just, not very smart.

Now there are just as many idiots on the other side of the coin.

The people with common sense, who generally want the same basic stuff, have got to stop putting big money corporate ####### dogs in office. I am going to vote a straight Libertarian ticket this year., unless there are some great indepedants out there

Being responsible and having the means to provide are clearly not the same. She stays in the US, she has family support and the chances of her making good, pretty high. Deported, she will probably end up in a lot more trouble than she's in now. Good to know how compassionate the average VJ'er is I knew you would understand the humanitarian angle, the one that says that the average rich American who sold a few hash brownies would probably not even get a prison sentence, but the messican illegal, who cares? Deport it, we do not need scum like that in the US. Excellent. I don't care who you do or do not feel sorry for. I don't feel sorry for her or her family but I do expect the US to uphold certain humanitarian standards. Silly me!

Let me get this straight for you. I would see her deported for being here illegally, first and foremost.

I would see her deported because she represents the abrogation by successive administrations, both Democrat and Republican, to enforce the immigration laws on the books.

I would see her deported because she represents the fruits of Washington lobbyists, perverting the role of government, angling to subvert the immigration process in order to further their own ends.

I would see her deported because she represents the worst of business, furthering the supply of cheap labour, lining the pockets of businessmen willing to break the law by employing cheap illegal immigrant labour, under poor working conditions, driving down wages and assuaging the American consumer with artificially low prices.

I would see her deported because she represents the denial of opportunity to an American citizen, or a legal immigrant. The denial of opportunity when it comes to college, or workplace training. The denial of opportunity in the workplace. She represents an easy way out for the system, which doesn't have to try to bring the other person around to the idea that work will see them get ahead in life.

I would see her deported because her family represents one in countless thousands who, instead of striving to improve their country of citizenship, by working hard and building the culture of opportunity there, chose to abandon their homeland and seek to improve their own lot, in a country where the fight to build a culture of opportunity has already been fought for them by others.

I would see her deported because she broke the law, full well knowing that she has no legal right to be in this country.
