Thank you all!

Since my NOA was nowhere to be seen we had to go for Infopass appointment. As it happened, the app was scheduled on the day my GC expired. Officers at Newark Service Center were very helpful and gave me an I-551 stamp without any questions. God Bless them. I'd say I was lucky when I heard they don't give the one year stamp anymore.

Anyway, everything went pretty smooth.

However, I had to travel recently on my I-551 stamp and the experience at the JFK was far from smooth. The entry officer had no clue why I had this stamp and not an actual GC in my hand so he sent me to the separate room. They checked my data in the system and released soon but the feeling wasn't pleasant at all.

Now I'm happy won't have to go through the same checkpoints while travelling.

Good luck to everyone waiting!

CONGRATS!!

Hi Amfrisco,

Have you received a seperate approval notice in addition to your new card? I have received my card first but I haven't received the notice yet. If you did how long did it take for the notice to arrive? Is it one of these 'Welcome to America' letters? I appreciate if you could answer my question.
